Nothing to fault whatsoever. A fantastic room, quiet and a great nights sleep in quality bedding. The deal we were on with afternoon tea was great value and the tea was super. First class location and very friendly, helpful staff. highly recommended. Best hotel in Norwich by streets.

First class and highly recommended

First time here and it was great. Room was stunning and staff very helpful. We had breakfast included and i strongly recommend anything that includes the bacon. It was terrific. We've already booked to stay again. Might be our new 'go to' for us when we stay in Norwich.

First time there already rebooked

Little gem of a hotel in centre of Norwich. Hubby booked as treat as in town to see a couple of shows. Check in was swift and we were shown to our room & told what was what. 
Room 1. Wow!! What a lovely room! Large lounge with 2 comfy leather sofas, nice patio area. Amazing bathroom ( huge) roll top bath and separate shower. 
Only tiny criticism was there was no body lotion ( the toiletries were top notch though) 
Breakfast each day was really nice. Nice to have a little more choice than just a buffet or Full English. The cheese soufflé with smk haddock was the perfect start to day. The cheese straws on the continental buffet were a nice touch too. Would have been nice if the breakfast was served a little later ( 7:30-9:30) little early when the beds are so comfy. 
Staff were really lovely too. Nothing too much trouble. 
We will be back.

Gorgeous Hotel, Beautiful Room. Amazing Breakfast

We booked a one night stay package which also included Afternoon Tea, a bottle
of fizz in our room and breakfast.  We are local to Norwich but wanted to treat ourselves to a stay in our fine city to properly enjoy all it has to offer, and the Assembly House was known to us as a gem in the city.

We chose room 10, a top floor suite with sitting room, super comfy bedroom and a bathroom offering a large free standing double ended bath as well as shower.  There was a nespresso machine (plus selection of coffee capsules) as well as a kettle and a fridge for our fizz, complementary bottled water and milk, plus a tray of teas and biscuits.

The suite was clean, comfortable and spacious.  We loved the Bluetooth speaker in the bathroom, meaning music could be enjoyed whilst sipping fizz in the bath!  

Afternoon Tea and breakfast were both delicious and plentiful.  Tweaks to the menu to cater for dietary requirements and preferences were no trouble at all.

Every staff member we encountered was super polite and friendly, which is becoming a rarer experience these days!   This adds so much to the overall experience and makes this a full marks review.  

Thank you for a wonderful stay.  We will certainly use the Assembly House again.

Five star experience

We stayed here on a Sunday night and did a deal which included afternoon tea, overnight stay, breakfast and a bottle of bubbles.
Absolutely fantastic.
The afternoon tea was delicious and very very fresh. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff here are polite, nice and kind.
Breakfast was also delicious. This is a must have place to visit!
The room we had (no.5) was really charming and the bed was ultra comfy. We had a really outstanding stay

My 50th birthday

The themed Peter Pan afternoon tea at the assembly house was literally the best afternoon tea I have ever had.
The gluten free option was exactly the same as my friends‘normal’ selection of sandwiches, pastries and desserts.
So many extra touches such as the bill coming in a treasure chest. What an amazing experience, highly recommended

The best GF afternoon tea!

It’s hard to put into words just how wonderful this place and its staff are. I don’t want to go into details about how they looked after us, suffice to say that, in our hour of need during family bereavement, they stepped up more than we could ever have imagined. The rooms are beautiful, with every facility you could hope for, and the breakfast, whilst not the cheapest, is a wonderful plateful. Thank you so much - you have restored our faith in humanity.

Absolutely dreadful experience with not a fragment of customer service to be seen .. my nephew took me for a treat … disabled parking available… we went in to be told ( not ask) to wait there a moment! Then marched around until we choose a place to sit … not taken to a table matched through 2 restaurants and told you can sit in heat if you want ! We ended up back where we started .. my nephew then said as we were staying hd would go and pay for the parking .. 25 minutes later he returned saying both machines were out of action so he couldn’t get a ticket! ( not really our problem the machines we’re broken) he told the young lady who basically jumped down his throat saying you’ll have to pay , you can’t not pay ! With that rudeness we left with out placing an afternoon tea order .. other people were also getting frustrated at the poor lack of service .. The next day I emailed and got a very poor excuse saying the assembly rooms are not responsible for the machines it’s not their car park .. I said it’s arthritis back of your premises and I assume most customers would use it … it basically fell on deaf ears as I haven’t had any response to me responding back … the place isn’t anywhere near as good as it once was when the company I use to work for held yearly conferences there … England as a society has very very poor customer service compared to place we all visit abroad ..

Shoddy customer service and care

As we were going to the theatre, we decided to treat ourselves and have a night away in Norwich.
Having stayed here before, the Assembly Hose was our obvious choice. We were not disappointed.
The room (4) was large and overall was well equipped. But can I suggest that they fit a safe in each room
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was great.
Oh, and there is car parking!

Great hotel in a great location

Disappointing. 
Paid over £400 for two nights here. Parking is a truly miserable experience arriving as we did late on a wet evening. The parking lot is tiny, difficult to find and cramped and no one meets you to help with luggage. After checking in there was a further outdoors, unprotected walk to the room and then a very difficult couple of flights of stairs up to the second floor. 
The room was clean but sparse. No minibar one solitary bottle of still water in a fridge and a couple of packaged cookies that could have been there forever. The room was large but the TV small and a long way away. The noise of the city centre traffic was a constant during day and evening hours. Breakfast was so so and even it’s complimentary nature wasn’t enough to entice a visit on the second morning.
Location is really good right near the city centre. Other than that nothing remarkable to mention.
As you leave the atrocious parking comes into play again… if you wish to stay beyond 1130 expect to pay for the privilege.
