Without doubt one of the top places I would recommend to stay .
The service is better than most of the top hotels I have stayed in over the years .
The hosts are of the best quality as is the accommodation.
The rooms are spotless and immaculately furnished .
I can not in all honesty find fault in the place ,and I would whole heartedly recommend this property to anyone staying in this area .
There are possibly cheeper places around , but you will not be disappointed in this accommodation

Unable to find a single fault

this was my fourth stay in this lovely hotel,the hosts mike and sheila always make the stay special. lovely atmosphere and superb breakfast,the rooms are very clean furnished to feel cosy. would,nt want stay anywhere else. love and best wishes chris.

home from home

Overnight stay travelling from Scotland to Norfolk for family birthday, we wanted something a little different - and we got it!  Whilst the decor etc would not be my idea of housework heaven, it all worked and constantly provided opportunities for us to go 'wow'!  From sumptuous bedding & towels, to extra blankets, toiletries and so many other items this was more a boutique hotel stay than a guest house!  We have stayed at so-called 5 star hotels with less and paid so much more!  Breakfast was plentiful and delicious - we were asked time we would like it and what we would like at check-in but it was no problem for us and we needed an early start away which could be accomodated for us.  Wish we had booked here for the return journey too!  Sadly this business is closing at the end of the year when Michael and Sheila retire but we had a most enjoyable stay.

5 star plus heaven

Very friendly and helpful owners,nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful bedrooms and glorious dining area/lounge. A substantial, well-presented breakfast included in the price.Everything is spotlessly clean. A great stay,thank you Sheila and Michael!

Very impressed

We stayed at the Guest House for the second time in August 2024. It is such a lovely place to stay & worth every penny. The bed & pillows are so comfortable & the rooms are so well equipped with everything you might need during your stay. 
Nothing is too much trouble for Mike & Sheila. They really do ‘above ‘ beyond’ to make your stay memorable. 
I would recommend the guest house to anyone staying in the Newark area.

A lovely place to stay near Newark.

Mike and Sheila were perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and their property is beautifully appointed. It is the little  things and attentional to detail that lifts  Newark Guest House above anywhere else we have stayed.

Perfect!

Lovely room (we were in no 2 ) clean and beautifully furnished, very comfortable bed, excellent  breakfast  and very warm welcome from friendly hosts who really want your stay to be a great experience. 
Would definitely stay here again if in the area 

Highly recommended

Everything about the guesthouse was superb. Mike and Sheila made me feel right at home. They couldn't do enough for me. Breakfast was really good especially Mikes calorie free sausage, bacon, egg, mushroom, tomato and toast. The rooms were exquisitely furnished as was the whole house. I will most definitely be back.

Been to stay in this fantastic place, lovely quite place for break . The hosts are fantastic,always made to feel welcome and  nothing is too much trouble for them. Nearby Chesters pub does superb food at a fair price as well. Many thanks
