The Badger Inn in Church Minshull has been highly recommended many times, but not previously visited. It’s quite a decent place. Perusing the menu I noticed kedgeree, a distinct possibility. Then I noticed corned beef hash. It is one of my favourites, I produce a rather fine example, if I may say so. It seemed a little out of place in such a restaurant. This one came topped with bacon and a poached egg. There was no other choice to be made.

The presentation was rather splendid. I tucked in. To report it as anything other than excellent would be unfair. It really was stunningly wonderful. The corned beef in particular had a consistency and taste that was superb. A pint of Badger Bitter compliments the corned beef hash wonderfully.

I have to join those who sing the praises of this establishment. Further visits are planned.

Simply splendid

Stayed here for three nights bank holiday weekend. Lovely room really comfy bed. Great shower. Staff brilliant so friendly and helpful. Had two meals in restaurant both excellent unfortunately the pie had sold out. Steak was superb. Good range of beer and wines reasonably priced. Beautiful gardens well kept.Would definitely stay again. 

Lovely place to stay

Me and the wife went for an evening meal and the food was delicious. The starters were amazing as to were the mains. The staff are great and we were really looked after. A real gem of a place and really well managed, we would recommend to anyone and will definitely be calling again.

Excellent 

Excellent stay at this lovely village pub. The room was good sized, nicely furnished and spotless, with a comfy bed.
The breakfast was delicious with good quality ingredients, as were the meals we had there each evening. Good choice of cask ales and gins, plus a lovely dark berry cider on draft, very welcome after a walk along the nearby canal.
The icing on the cake though was the staff team who were all friendly, helpful and professional.

Amazing food

Food was superb, great combinations of good quality ingredients imaginatively prepared and presented. Waitresses were helpful and attentive. Disappointing service on arrival - we had booked a table for 4 and then 4 additional family members wanted to join us. The additional group were  advised on the phone they would have to sit at a separate table at the opposite end of the restaurant as the place was fully booked. When we arrived we checked whether the situation had changed and were told it hadn't, and there was no flexibility to adapt, so perhaps we would like a drink at the bar together whilst we waited for the tables to be prepared, which we did. Within a couple of minutes we were told the table was ready and we had to occupy it immediately, so we lost the opportunity to chat. It was therefore galling as the separate meals progressed to discover that there were a number of empty tables around the 2nd location in the pub where our children had to sit, and we could easily have been accommodated either as 2 adjacent tables or one joined up table. When we finished and paid and complimented the management on exit on the food whilst pointing this seating anomaly out, the response we received was pretty poor  - a rather spuriously-argued  defensiveness on the part of the management which was underwhelming in the circumstances. A good pub, good food and good waitresses rather tarnished as an experience by the way our comments at the end were handled.

We had 2 rooms, 1 king & 1 double, both had very comfortable beds. The restaraunt was busy for midweek, a good sign, and the food was excellent (so was the wine). Breakfast was large and well cooked. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ample car-parking.
In all this is a very good place to stay/dine.

A good nights sleep

This is a review of the venue as a pub. We visited for lunch but unfortunately there wasn’t a single vegan main course on the menu. The staff offered to leave ingredients out of some of the dishes but unfortunately this isn’t the way to a vegan’s heart (or stomach)! And soup just doesn’t cut it as a main meal. Anyway the pub itself is excellent with some great cask ales on offer with a great taster “beer board” offering three 1/3 pints for under £4.
Will visit again on our way back along the canal and perhaps they will have extended their menu by then!

Great Pub (not sure what the food is like!?)

Just stayed at The Badger for 2 nights whilst visiting a friend at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, which is literally 3 miles away.  I was efficiently checked in by Phil, having booked and prepaid via Booking.com.  I had two dinners and two breakfasts whilst staying at The Badger and they were all very good. Particularly enjoyed the huge optional £10 breakfast served by Julie.  Proper Americano coffee topped it off. 
The staff particularly Phil, Julie and the lovely lady serving tables at dinner (apologises as I didn’t get your name) we’re always very friendly and helpful and made my stay more personal. Thank you to them.

A Gem of a stay

Called in for an evening meal. I would advise reserving a table as it is a busy place. Reasonable vegetarian options and the food was excellent. Service was good and not overpriced. Plenty of room and the cask badger beer is well worth a try. I will be back
