Landlord went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Family run hotel/bar and you can really tell as the service was perfect. All the staff were so friendly from the moment we arrived. We enjoyed McCarthys sports bar downstairs before heading to our room. Played great music and the atmosphere was great. For the price you literally can’t go wrong!! Highly recommend

Convenient and perfect stay

This is a pub with rooms. You cant expect hotel style comfort. It's an ideal contractors venue. 

I have had teams of guys stay here and they have enjoyed it. The train station is very near which adds to convenience. 

For what you pay it's no problem 

We stayed over after the rammstein gig at the stadium. We were told it was a ten minute walk, but it was more like half an hour (28 minutes said Google). 

My only other complaint was the bathroom I used was a bit hairy, probably some guest not rinsing the tub after themself. When we arrived the room and bathroom were clean. 

No food as has been mentioned but there were 3 take aways across the road, and plates and cutlery available to eat with in your room. 

The music didn't bother me too much, but it was louder than I'd have the tv on normally. My dad was in another room and couldn't sleep until it was turned off at midnight. I'd say that comes with pub accommodation.

Soap was available in dispensers in the shower and by the sinks. One towel provided and an extra blanket was in one of the cupboards. Basic tea and coffee facilities. I would not have had tea as the tea bags were loose in the tray.

Shower pressure was not great and the temperature fluctuated (though not to extremes).

The bed was fine and black out curtains were there. The room itself was big, as was the bathroom. 

The staff were brilliant. When we arrived they had rammstein playing! There was also a big, free car park. The bar was lovely. It had a pool table and dart board. 

I'd happily go back and could have spent a few days there.

Cheap and cheerful

Stayed for one night. Good location, large free car park. No reception so check in is at the bar. Friendly staff. Was shown to our room which was dated but large and clean. We could hear the trains but it’s not very loud. Had a great nights sleep, the bed was so comfy. Check out was at 10am. Town centre was 5 mins walk to get some breakfast. Well worth the £47 and will definitely stay again

No frills, cheap room for the night

Upon arrival we were greeted by the landlord and then led up what I can only describe as a rabbit Warren to our room...it had a shower in what looked like a cupboard ( I'd personally would have preferred a toilet) that by the way was out on landing (with next to no loo roll) and the sink next door to that, the room was something I would have walked away from had I viewed it as kennals for our dogs, the window was propped open by a length of wood, a large spider was shrivelled and stuck to net curtain..Don't think it was something that had recently died, although having spent night in that room can understand why it possibly took it's own life...if they had of offered breakfast I would rather have chewed my own arm off...sticking to prem  inn in future, if you want cheap and uncheerful  and aren't into cleanliness then this is right up your street,  if not AVOID AVOID AVOID and pay a bit extra elsewhere!!

OH DEAR!! 

So my girlfriend and I traveled to Milton Keynes for her sister's birthday party...  We had these rooms booked for us by the organiser. 

Thoughts... 

Ok... so we arrive for the first time straight after the birthday party having been provided the key by the organiser... The room was pretty darn basic... Prison basic... Everything was pretty crappy really... Ugly beds, wardrobes, bedside tables etc. Ugly dated lamp, and kettle that I'd have thrown away LONG before it got to the condition it was presently in... We had to unite the beds since a bedside table was separating them, which revealed an awful state of cleanliness underneath the beds and bedside table. 

Kinda made us both feel instantly itchy... But we were knackered so we went to sleep... 

We woke up around 10am, and we knew we had to book out at 11am, so the gf gets in the shower as I mess around with the few channels on the little tv... Soon after I get into the very disappointing power shower (you know the type... electric, very little water, very disappointing). There was some unlabeled gel of some sorts in there, but I preferred to use my own. As soon as I'd covered myself in suds... THE WATER TURNS OFF!!!... The taps in the sink still work, but the powershower has been cut off... So I had to finish myself in the bloody sink! Sounding good? I assure you, there were no signs stating this... It was exactly 10:30am... 

5 minutes later? The cleaning staff virtually let themselves in to the room after giving us literally 2 seconds to answer the door... And I'm still trying to get the soap out of my bloody hair... 

He said, yeah it's policy to turn it off between 10:30 and 11:30am... Disgusting... I wasn't even supposed to check out till 11... Don't the vast majority of people leave showering as the last thing to do before check out? 

Look... My advice to you/anyone... Steer clear of it... it's a total dive inside and out... There is no reception area, No breakfast with the room, (but you won't want to eat there after seeing the rooms anyway), the building is a maze of tacky claustrophobic, single file corridors to get to your room... I swear it's much more like a band practice venue than a hotel. Worst hotel stay ever...

Dirty Rooms, unpleasant hotel...  ohhh and they turned the shower water off at 10:30am
