Fourpenny Cottage Barn

We stayed in the lovely Barn. Village is so quiet, provided excellent respite from our busy lives. Michael has excellent communication and provided more than enough food for us for the weekend. We had an issue with Sat Nav and we arrived late in the dark so struggled to find the property but the Green Man Pub provided directions and is almost directly opposite. Excellent value and quality accommodation 

Weekend  away

We stayed here for the F1 weekend and loved it! 

Everything you need, hair dryer, full kitchen washing machine and dish washer. Tv with freeview in bedroom and lounge.

WiFi a bit hit and miss but good enough.  

Michael the owner couldn’t do enough stocked us up with milk coffee tea sugar everything for a lovely breakfast (croissants bread jam, hot cross buns butter)

Building is calming comfortable garden lovely to sit out. 

We had a lovely 3 nights stay wished it was for longer! 

Not a great place if scared of spiders 😂

Lovely self contained barn conversion

If you like sleek lines and ultra-modern design, this is not the place for you. However, if you want comfortable, delightful, historic accommodation with charm and quirky features then book it now! Now! If you like The Burrow from the Harry Potter series you'll love this place. 

Fourpenny Cottage Barn is so much more than I expected, it's off the charts. It's clean and so well appointed I feel like I'm staying with family. 

Over 200 years old, this building is both comfortably modernised but holds all the old charm and quirks. Bear this in mind when booking as the floors aren't as 'even' as some others, but the stories these walls could tell with this kind of history. 

It's such a delightful place we don't want to leave. Actually, we may still be here so maybe you won't be able to book in...

Michael has been so wonderful to book with, and Jackie has been super helpful and friendly. It has been a lovely welcome after such a long trip. They have been so considerate and thoughtful, there is nothing more we could want. 

The Green Man pub is right across the road and we look forward to eating there. 

A few points to be aware of-
The stairs to the bedrooms are steep and twisty which can be a challenge. 
Some of the door frames and ceilings are quite low, so mind your head. 
There are a few little steps up and down between rooms, but once you remember where they are it's not an issue. 
All of this adds to the charm and we wouldn't change a thing. 

The kitchen is very well appointed, the bathroom is roomy, and there is a lovely sitting room/reading nook upstairs too. 

Sterile, generic hotel rooms are fine but Fourpenny Cottage is not accommodation, it's a highlight. It doesn't just speak with the character of the cottage, it sings and regales. 

Totally in love with this place

This is a find. A lovely B+B self contained cottage / outbuilding.  For the lovely lounge diner/ bed room twin bed ,TV , with breakfast for approx. £50.00/per night. Michael does like bookings for more than one night but at this price . Close to Milton Keynes about 15 minutes drive.  Ill be back for certain. Thank you Michael .
