Went there for husband’s 70th birthday along with family. Have stayed here previously and the high standards we enjoyed then have not diminished in the slightest. Attention to detail, cleanliness and overall unique experience was excellent. Our host Richard, made us all so welcome and the breakfast we had was absolutely first class. Would highly recommend a stay at the Manor and we will definitely be returning again. 

Great Place to Stay

The room we stayed in was spacious and so comfortable. We loved everything about the manor. Our room was facing the rear garden and it was so lovely to see the little rabbits hopping around and the chickens and ducks. Our stay was so relaxing. The host is so lovely and welcoming. We enjoyed our breakfast. We would highly recommend this lovely manor. 

Beautiful manor stay

A beautiful place to stay, staff very welcoming and friendly throughout. Couldn't do enough for us. Food was excellent. The richmond suite was amazing. The travel to the manor was delayed due to car trouble and the staff were superbly understanding and offered us alternative dates waited to welcome us and booked our taxi into Richmond. A really excellent time was had by my partner and I. Cannot speak highly enough of West Layton Manor!

What a delightful stay in this beautiful olde English country House, polished silver tableware, decadence down to every fine detail fine linen bedding and feather pillows Make for a very good nights sleep. 
with fabulous history throughout the building that’s been so tastefully restored the owner/host Karl and wonderful parents make this a very welcoming home for home. 
His attentiveness to detail and exceptional good service, welcoming conversations Thank you ! Exceptional value for money. The Manor is one of the best country house stays I’ve had and I’ve been to many throughout the uk …..

Best county house stay I have experienced

Lovely friendly welcome with the real fire on in the hall. Gorgeous on a cold November evening.  We stayed in the Lord Rokeby room which has a four poster bed. Beautiful little touches around too. Like a fridge with proper milk not those little tubs things, and a teapot as well as a coffee machine. After our night out we were encouraged to make use of the Beautiful lounge which was set up for us with sherry and cakes. The bed was really comfy with lovely crisp sheets and we had an excellent night's sleep.
The breakfast was amazing! So much on offer.
Richard is really friendly and gives you his phone number so you can contact him straight away if there are any problems.  (There weren't).
We had a fabulous stay and will definitely be going again.

Both hotel and local pub that are ran by Sam & Haley are amazing! Quiet and comfortable with great surroundings and really good breakfast. 

Highly recommend staying for a quiet night away from everything.

Spectacular

We were four couples staying at West Layton Manor for the weekend to celebrate my husbands birthday, from the moment we stepped through the door Sam and the team were fantastic, we had a tour of the manor and choose our rooms.  The place is stunning, decorated really tastefully with comfy beds and lovely little extras such as sherry and victoria sponge in your room.  Breakfast was the best I have had and do book at table at The Bay Horse at Ravenswick, we ate there both nights, the food was amazing.  Fantastic find, we will be back 

Wonderful from start to finish

This place is amazing,  the rooms are stunning and comfortable.  Jill,Sam and Haley were the best hosts, nothing was to much trouble, we also ate at their pub, the food was brilliant and again could not fault anything, we will definitely be back

Absolutely outstanding hidden gem! 

We have stayed in numerous locations and this one is definitely up there as one of the best!

Absolutely stunning suite , the complimentary extras were a very nice touch . 
Easy check in and the hosts were very welcoming , friendly and nothing was too much trouble . 
Breakfast was fit for king and queen . 
A real hidden gem and get away . 
Recommendations for dinner at the Bay Horse in Ravensworth were absolutely perfect and the food was to die for especially the haggis and black pudding starter , again with the hosts been very attentive .
