My friend and I had two very tasty meals at the Star Inn on 17/12/24. We were served by Rachel, who I must say, was very polite, friendly and efficient; a real credit to the pub. We go to the pub fairly regularly and always receive a warm welcome - see you over Christmas!

Came here twice while on holiday. The hunters chicken was cooked perfectly and my nan and grandad had fish and chips. We also came for the Sunday roast and the meat was good. We all cleared our plates. There are lots of choices on the menu. You get a good portions for your money.

Nice old fashioned pub in Cornwall

Absolutely beautiful building, our room was the lookout and was clean and comfortable. We stayed room only and didn't eat here so can't comment on the food. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere in the bar was welcoming. There was even live music, and we stayed on a Tuesday night! Not sure I would recommend for a family or those with mobility issues as the steps up to the room were steep and uneven in width, but taken slowly there was no problem.

16th Century charm 

Visited this week for a birthday dinner and we all 3 chose the Sirloin Steak from the specials board. WOW! It was absolutely fantastic - best pub chips ever, and lovely tasty steak, cooked to perfection. Thank you - we'll definitely recommend and be back! The mushroom sauce was delicious.!

Awesome steak

Friendly staff and locals. The pub is very active in the community offering a warm space and a warm heart. We went to the quiz night on a Sunday and we’ve been to the acoustic sing around on a Tuesday. Both great fun. We’ve eaten there several times and it’s always tasty and good quality. It’s 10 minutes from where we live but it’s worth heading over regularly.

Fabulous local pub

Just had, without doubt, the best Sunday Roast. Pork and gammon cooked to perfection,  yorkies second  to none.  Cauliflower cheese superb, veg superb. Loads of the best homemade gravy. Literally can't find one thing wrong with this and at £10 per head for a plate full that I could not finish is value for money not seen anywhere else in west Cornwall.  My husband had beef and pork and also says it was faultless.  I could not recommend this highly enough.  The staff are warm, welcoming and very funny. Nobody stands on ceremony, it is just a cracking pub selling cracking food. It's not pretending to be anything else and it works so well. 10/10.

Best Sunday Roast

I found these guys in the Britstops guide. Really pleased I gave them a call. They were very friendly and helpful staff. Great beer. Great food.  Lots of locals in the pub. Nice vibe in the place. I visited when it was curry night so enjoyed my chicken tikka! Will be back in the future.

Had a fantastic Sunday Lunch and deserts so glad we choose to visit this lovely village pub in St Erth would definitely recommend for families, as the main menu is still on offer on a Sunday to cater for all.

See the sign for this amazing place on the way out of train station.
Went for lunch.
Very warm welcome.
Log burning fire brought back childhood memories.
There was five of us and nothing was to much trouble.
Food: Amazing all home made. Large portions (couldn't finish mine).
We will definitely be back next year now we know it's there.
