room and food was average and considering the price we paid, no complaints. Good location about 10 mins walk to the centre, overall we enjoyed it and would def use again. The best bit though was the Polish girl (sorry can't remember her name), who seemed to be running the whole shebang single-handedly, couldn't do enough for you and kept the locals well under control lol

We stayed for 2 nights because we wanted to be near the church.  The staff are lovely and the room was cosy with decent facilities. We've paid a lot more for a lot less in other hotels. Would definitely recommend this.  Would describe it as quirky.  Loved the bar area.

We really liked it

The staff are friendly,the room was nice(you get what you pay for).
Had no hot water from tap in the sink, but did work from shower. 
The hotel bar has a few selected beers.
Never had food in the hotel, so can comment on that.

Shipwright Hotel

No the rooms were nasty and dirty on floors heirs in the bathroom and stains round the toilet needs a lot of tlc in the two rooms we stayed in for the night five pounds extra for breakfast which we did not have drive into Felixstowe and had something to eat there.

Would not stay again. 

I was in a room facing the street, and the walls were thin (I heard all the other guests thundering up and down the stairs and having loud conversations). The door felt like thin mdf, and not very secure. 
On the upside they are trying - they included a hairdryer and an iron, and nice toiletries in the bathroom. It's about a 20 minute walk from the station.

They are trying but the location is not ideal

please don't try to check in before 4, once in, it has a small bar sadly Friday you can't get food , but there is an Indian take away and chip shop a couple of doors down, and the lovely bar staff said we could take our food into the dining area where she supplied cutlery and plates. room was alright, would go back again.

Good budget option especially if travelling for work. Rooms basic but clean and tidy and tea, coffee, towels and toiletries provided.  Central location only a few minutes walk from the main town centre of Ipswich.

Shipwrights Inn

It cost me £58 a night. The only room available was a family room. The shower was very poor, the water trickled out and the water was not that hot. The beds were standard comfort, not particularly comfy but not the worse. The decor was very dated. The room was very hot and stuffy even with window fully open to the point we left early because we just couldn’t settle to sleep. One of the staff entered or room without knocking while we was in there, which would never happen at any other hotel! The door had no lock on the inside to prevent this from happening. The rooms did not have any smoke detectors which I thought was not very ‘safe’. The free WiFi advertised did not work at all during my stay, it would connect but either drop out or just wouldn’t load any of my internet pages. I think value for money was rubbish, Ipswich wasn’t exactly London so I think it was very over priced. I wouldn’t call it a hotel either it is literally a pub with rooms they let out basically. I have emailed the hotel with my complaint and not reviewed a response yet.
