Fake plant screen view from window. Coffee machine didn’t work (descaling needed). Breakfast was a small table of items.

I have been coming to riva hotel for a couple of years and have always enjoyed it the sataff are very friendly and helpful i

Hotel is tatty from outside , blind dirty and broken.First impressions not great in that number on door was missing and superior room we were in looked out on a wall and nothing else .Photography of room was very creative as room was tiny but looked ok on website .Bathroom tiny and main complaint was no hot water for shower.The worst was yet to come as we paid for what looked like a proper cooked breakfast on your site .Apparently they have stopped doing cooked breakfast and now had a paltry looking buffet. Food looked inedible and so had to go somewhere else for breakfast . They need to update their website and you need to sell a product that is fit for purpose .We would like some money back as description on your site did not fit the reality .

hotel was great but booking through hotel.com was problematic and ended up paying twice and hotel had trouble figuring how to process a refund of one payment through hotels.com.  supposedly done but may take two weeks to get it through.

Very quirky rooms with comfortable beds and large tv's. The staff were amazing and very friendly.Great atmosphere in the bar area and very reasonably priced drinks and food.All in all a lovely place to stay.

Didnt like the waiting to check in and checking out .not nice smell from toilet .and shower was not working didnt know that until the morning which we had to check out for 10am and only seen one member of staff so felt couldn't raise our concerns. Positive was the room being clean .

Our stay was nice. Overall the staff seemed nice, approachable and polite. The food we had was dinner was very enjoyable and the portion sizes were large and reasonably priced with good selection. I stayed in a Superior Double room which was fine, it was a bed and a telly as expected - it was nice to see a coffee machine until i discovered it didn't work. The only thing i would mention is that you must be very comfortable with the person you are staying with as the bathroom door is only 70% frosted which was a tiny bit off putting. I would say the cost of the experience was a little high but by no means an unpleasant stay!

Little privacy

The hotel had a bad water leak when i returned at 10.30pm, with water running into bar and dining area.No ones fault at that stage but the way it was dealt with was dreadful. Staff did nothing to stop the leak, no one knew how to turn water off, and didnt have keys to access any possible areas. Fire Brigade came and turned water off, electrics and fire alarms compromised. The hotel was shut and everyone had to leave with nowhere else to go, this around 12.30 am, with all other local hotels in area full. Glasgow airport Holiday Inn nearest we could get in. So bit of a disaster handled very badly

Water Leak Fiasco

Welcomed by a young lad who was very friendly and gave a speedy and efficient check-in, one of the fastest I’ve experienced (sorry I didn’t catch your name).My husband and I just had a standard double  room for a quick weekend seeing family, the room was cosy and clean (just a couple of cobwebs on the very high ceiling), nicely styled with a soft mattress, softer than we are used to but still very easy to sleep on. Kettle, coffee machine, lots of spare tea bags and coffee with biscuits and chocs too… lots to enjoy! The bathroom was clean and bright with an amazing shower and incredible smelling local products to use which left our skin silky smooth (you can buy some of them at reception too).The bar downstairs was well stocked with lots of local tipples, and those from further afield too, all at very reasonable prices. A chilled atmosphere, cool music and a good bartender as well (sorry we didn’t get your name either). In the mornings we were greeted by Dee who was an absolute joy! So friendly and attentive, we had a wonderful long chat with her about family, life and holidays - it’s a shame we only stayed 2 nights so we couldn’t chat more! We both had the free continental breakfast that came with the room, simple but tasty with a decent coffee and perfectly done toast.The hotel itself is opposite the loch, near the centre of town, close to the Central train station - great styling with a nice decor and lighting making it feel unique, we would happy stay again!
