Our 2nd visit and our 2nd time of staying in the Compasses cottage. Our friends stayed in the pubs rooms.  The accomadation was a little tired but it was definitely clean and tidy and we all slept well. We had our dog with us and he was made welcome in the pub & restaurant. My 5 stars goes to the staff. They are so friendly and helpful and can't do enough for you. We stayed for 2 nights which included NYE. The atmosphere was lovely...even though the DJ didnt take requests....we had a fun evening and a memorable stay. 

A friendly place

Another fishing trip and a return to The Compasses.  It is even better than before.  A great English menu which none of us tried because the Nepalese food was absolutely brilliant.
The atmosphere in the bar was great with fishermen chatting to shooters and locals.  Service was great and I give a special mention here to Payub for being so helpful and never stopping smiling.  We will be back. 

Great food, great atmosphere.  

After a warm welcome from one of the owners, I was shown to my room. I was a bit disappointed. The room was tired looking and very basic. Very small TV , basic tea/coffee with the smallest biscuit. Heating didn't work, light on the kirror in bathroom didn't work, toilet seat was broken and moved around when sat on. 
The bed was quite comfortable though and pillows were to my taste.
I also ate here and had a Nepalese curry, that was fantastic, so tasty and generous portions.
Breakfast was a bit ofca shambles as the waiter kept getting orders wrong and forgot to bring the toast. Food was nice though. 
Probably won't stay again, but if I am staying close by in the future I would return for the curry.

Nice food tired rooms 

Thank you so very much to Bish and all his staff for a wonderful stay. My daughters wedding reception was in Damerham Village Hall opposite. Staying at the compasses in was perfect lovely clean rooms, comfy beds and one of the best fresh breakfast we’ve ever had. Would recommend to all.

The staff could not have been more helpful or friendlier. Food was amazing, especially the Gurka curry menu. The rooms could benefit from some modernisation but they were clean and comfortable. 👏👏👏

Amazing Gurka Curry

Decent pub and B&B, but don’t expect any help if you’re locked out at midnight.
No lighting along the path to the entrance, which is located around the back.
No way in with key provided.
No one answers the telephone.
No one answers the door.
Pros: the remote location plus zero lighting makes it great for avid star gazers; the Plough was a particularly prominent consternation.

Great place to stay clean and very friendly and comfortable made dogs very welcome food was excellent will definitely stay again.  Lovely surroundings great area for dog walking and not far from Fordingbridge centre⁸

Compasses Inn This was our second stay and in a quiet location where we can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet

I booked my Son in for a night as he had cycled from Devon and was on route to Istanbul!    All being done for Charity! He had had a very wet day and was cold and hungry..he has a tent but so very wet and windy.  Everyone at the Compass Inn made Will so welcome and helped him with facilities to clean the bike and dry the clothes!  Wil had a great night ,meal and breakfast which set him up for the next days cycle!  A great friendly Inn!

Excellant stay!

This is a VERY quiet country pub hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was awesome to feel the country village atmosphere. My Mum and I shared a twin room. Beds were comfortable, and it was spacious with nice big windows. Despite it being a pub and the weekend, it was not noisy at all. Breakfast was included and we enjoyed the traditional English fare. Highly recommend.

Quiet, friendly country pub hotel

Its the 2nd time we have stayed at The Compasses. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms are lovely and clean and the bed was very comfortable indeed.

The evening meal was very good and plentiful. James, who was out waiter could not have been more helpful.

The breakfast was excellent, and to top off the whole stay our dogs were welcome throughout the whole establishment.
