Darlington  Luxury Penthouse apartment

My family & I recently stayed at this apartment for a weekend whilst visiting family.
For us it was ideal, family a few minutes drive away, the town is a stones throw away.
We visited a few attractions whilst there as well,
one being the free attraction "locomotion" which we enjoyed.

We ate at the burtree restraunt, the food was lovely & only a short drive away.
Middlesborough & Redcar were a 30 minute drive away.
It's not the Ritz but we found it clean, tidy & comfortable & very convenient plus much more affordable compared to 2 hotel rooms for 2 night's.

Myself and a friend stayed here for a few nights. Well I wish we hadn’t bothered. Definitely not a luxury apartment like stated a whole mix and match of furniture nothing really went together looked like it had been bought randomly at a charity shop.there was left over bits and pieces in the kitchen from other guests crumbs in draws definitely hadn’t been checked after each stay. Lots of dust behind furniture could definitely do with a deep clean. Having only one shower in the en suite bathroom made things very difficult at times. After returning to the property after a day out we definitely got sense that somebody had let themselves into the property nothing had been taken but doors and belongings had definitely been moved but for no clear reason other than snooping. This did feel like a violation of our privacy and we definitely didn’t give consent of this. After this incident we definitely did feel like we couldn’t relax.

Never again

After camping a night at Barnard castle we didn't fancy braving the rain, so we checked into this apartment, was cosy and clean and just what we needed. It even felt like home! We could of quite happily stayed another nite. All the bad reviews for this place are abut over the top. We found it perfect. If we're ever back in darling we would Defo stay again. Price was more than suitable. Thanks darling apartments!! 

Perfect for what we needed! 

Befor I start I feel it Necessary Just to mension that the Owners of these Apartments Replied to the Review I left for them on Bookings.com Disagreing with a Copple of the things that I had said
However with the Benefit of being able to Add my Own Photos at the end of this Review then all will be Revieled,? We Booked and stayed these Apartments for a week at £580 on first viewing the Apartment from outside the Building Looked OK however due to the NONE arrival of any Email from the owners to ourselves it took us well over 45 Minits to gain entry to the Apartment itself due to the Total Lack of any Meet and Greet at this place to Hand Over the Keys as Normal People would do However thay Wanted Full Payment Well in Advance, On looking round the 2 Beedroomed apartment at first glance it seemed OK apart from Very Dull Cheap Light Bulbs that
Made the place look more like a Morgue than a Holiday Let, Still we plodded on regardless But on our 3rd day there On our Return to the Apartment we Noticed that someone had been in to it
and Taken a Hoover and our Towels that we wear using ( That my wife had washed at our Expence in the Apartments Old Washing Machine) out of the Cubard in the hall, We contacted the Owners strate away as we felt this was a Violation of our Privicy, Thay did come down within the Hour or so with a New supply of Towels. Wile at the Apartment we changed about 4 or 5 Low Voltage bulbs for More Powerfull once as thay wear to Dark for us to see by Propoly we also had to replace about 3 or 4 Old Cheap low voltage Bulbs wile there. The furnishings in the Apartment
was a Complete Mish Mash just like items Bought from Charity Shops. There was NO extra Bed
Fold up or otherwise Dispite it being on the Apartments Listings on Sevral Accomadation Sites.
The table and chears Looked like thay would of been a Home in a Garden not a Living Room/Cum Dineing Room, The 2 Very Old paper light shades in the Passage Way Literaly fell to Bits wile Changing Bulbs, The Cooker Hobs wear all Black and the Knobs wear both Burnt and Faded. The Vertical Blinds wear also the Cheap Variety very Thin, and as for the Electrc Light Socket in the Kitchen it was so Old it was Falling Apart and kept on Blowing every Bulb that we put in to it, It was in a Thoroughly Dangerus Condition with Some black tape Holding it Together
In case any one Doubts what we are saying I will be Adding Photos with this Review as Proof of what we am Saying and we have Plenty More photos should anyone reading this review Need to See Just Email for them, The genarel Condition of the Apartment was very Dirty with Cobwebs and Dust Staining everywhere and the Carpets wear in Need of a Good Clean as was the Entire
Apartment to be Honest, There was Mould in sevaral Places as the Photos Show, To be Honest the Price of £580 for 7 days is Pushing it for what you get such as Plates and Cups need
a Good clean befor use as dos just about everythink eals, I no that the Owners of these Apartments will Reply to this Review as thay did to Bookings and Disagree with a lot of what I have Wrote However Photos DO NOT LIE so we wish Any expectant Guests Well and Good Look

BULBS BLOWING, FAULTY ELECTRICS, AND WORN OUT CHEAP PAPER SHADES FALLING DOWN ? ? ? ? ?

Although this apartment was advertised as non smoking,when we turned up it reeked of cigarette smoke.I rang the agent to complain of the smell, as the rental agreement stated the you would be charged for smoking in the apartment. The agent emailed me to aplogise for the smell and stated that I would not be charged, which was good of him to do.  The carpet in the lounge area had seen better days and had numerous stains on it.
The mismatched cups,plates etc had to be washed before we were game to use them.
The bed linen appeared to be clean and freshly laundered. With a bit more attention to detail this could be a very good appartment. The rating reflects how we found the appartment on our stay.
