We had searched for days for a guesthouse which accepted dogs and I am so glad and grateful we found the Glen Lodge. Barbara was an amazing host and tended to all of our needs. As soon as we arrived we were offered tea, biscuits and buns. We were then taken to our room on the bottom floor which was the  family room and was absolutely spotless! Great comfy bed, en suite and what’s more  our wee dog absolutely loved it too.

Just what we were looking for!!

I travel a lot for extended periods (months) and switch lodgings frequently, so I usually do not write reviews, but in this case I really felt I should. Barbara is easily the best hostess to ever host me. She went out of her way to accommodate me. The house was beautiful, the room was very comfortable, the breakfast was phenomenal, and the location was great for visiting several AONBs in the area. I highly recommend Glen Lodge.

Incredible value, highly recommended

A really excellent B and B . I stayed with 4 family members to attend a funeral nearby and Barbara was an exceptional hostess. House is lovely, rooms are clean and beds very comfortable. Breakfasts are huge and delicious. Barbara works hard to make everyone very welcome. I would definitely go back

Excellent

We spent a great week at the Glen Lodge, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is beautifully decorated, the breakfasts were delicious, and the owner is a joy! The town of Ballymoney is close enough to the coast that you can enjoy all there is to offer along this stunning part of Northern Ireland, and at the same time, there is a nice little town to enjoy away from crowds. Glen Lodge is easy to find, easy parking, spotlessly clean, and very comfy.

Wonderful house!

We stayed here our first night in Ireland because we wanted to see the Dark Hedges at dusk or early morning without mobs of tourists.  We were arriving later than normal after a full day of sightseeing, and Barbara had a function that evening.  She went out of her way to ask a friend to meet us when we arrived to check us in.  We were fortunate to have such a helpful hostess and friend!  Barbara met us the following morning and gave us lots of great tips for visiting the area.  

The room was cute, very homey, comfortable, and well-appointed.  Everything in the room and en suite bathroom looked, felt, and smelled clean.  The shower was a bit small, but we discovered that this is usually the case in Ireland / Northern Ireland, so it was like everywhere else we stayed.  The bath towels were soft and absorbent. 

The breakfast was our first experience with a Full Irish, and we were delighted.  Tasty, generous portions, and all served on delightful, beautiful China, Barbara's hearty, satisfying breakfast kept us fueled until evening.  Two gentlemen at the next table explained that they have been coming here for years, a very good indication of the quality of Barbara's lodging.  

The only negative thing is something over which Barbara has no control:  the noise from the street.  Situated along a somewhat busy road, the traffic noise kept me awake until the wee hours.  I took sleep aids and shut the window, which made it quieter but also stuffier and a bit warm.  There is nothing anyone can do about traffic noise, so if your room is in the front, facing the road, you may want to consider taking sleep aids to help you drift off.

Welcoming hostess, tasty breakfast, great accommodation!

Barbara is the hostess of this charming B & B. It is her own home and she has run it for 22 years. Filled with many treasures of a time gone by, it is a delightful place to spend time while travelling thru the beautiful Northern Ireland countryside. We were welcomed with a hot cup of tea or coffee and a platter full of freshly baked scones, cupcakes, muffins, squares, when we arrived. Barbara is full of information about the area which she readily shares. Her staff Rose, is also a delightful lady. The food was excellent. Our room was quiet and comfortable. I would recommend this B&B without hesitation.

A trip back in time

Had a lovely over night stay here. We came up for a wedding and knew we would be out late. This wasn't an issue and we where greeted in the morning with a full fry up. Its a lovely very quaint rural home and was extremely welcoming.  

Lovely Host excellent service 

Barbara was very helpful tea and cake when we got there even though we where  early, rooms clean and tidy. The breakfast excellent and plenty of it .would stay hear again if we where in there area again well recommended many thanks Barbara.

warm and welcome

Enjoyed our stay at Glen Lodge . We were made very welcome allways a cup of tea and nice cakes if when we got back from motor bike trip . When the taxis didn't run on the sunday night Barbara took us into Ballymoney and picked us up cant thank her enough . Very good breakfast nothing to much trouble. Must also say Rose who helped her was very nice and helpful. Thanks a lot.
