My partner & I stayed five nights. Perfect location near the end of beach by the ferry dock, so not much foot traffic. Clean, fine sand; no broken glass like Sunrise Beach (aka "Glitter Beach"). Reggae bar noise no issue; get a villa at the back for peace & quiet. Villa is basic (bed, end tables, wall fan); beds & pillows CLEAN and comfy. Fan not always enough but windows open & had bug screens. Ate mostly breakfast here; quality EXCELLENT. (I prefer to eat "local", but did try their pasta which was great!). Bonus: used Booking.com so was able to pay by credit card rather than by cash like most places here.
Disliked: Not much. Probably my only gripes would be the lack of shelves or benches or wall hooks to hang or set luggage/clothes upon (rather than on the floor). Also, the bungalow had only cold running water in the bathroom sink & shower (like many inns on SE Asian islands), that often would alternate between clear & rust-coloured (which may have been due to some construction/excavation going on further back behind the resort). Wishlist: Have beach towels available in the lobby for guests to use on the beach mats out front (rather than using the villa’s bath towels. A hammock on all villa verandas would be welcome too. Also a couple of water glasses or cups (and even an electric kettle for those who pack their own tea) would be a bonus. Some other reviewers complained about price. Well everything on the islands, including hostels, is "overpriced" compared to the mainland.

We ate at the restaurant because of its position and the offer of Thai food. There were no other customers other than the four of us. We ordered to starters to share and four main courses. They brought too many starters and then only two main courses. So we tried again. Still confusion. We explained the problem to the manager ( we think he was anyway). Another mistake but finally we got all four dishes ( after our two friends had finished their food). The food was OK, but not worth the wait. No atmosphere. Poor presentation and all a bit like (for English readers) “ Faulty Towers”. I wouldn’t bother if I were you.

Lovely position but give it a miss

Had out first lunch here. When you open that first singha and orders your first pad thai combined with the view this restaurant offers, then you know the day will be great.
Nothing extraordinary about the food, but higher standard then most of the places on this Island. We came back a few times actually. 
Im giving the place 5 stars thanks to the nice vibe, good service and okey food.

First lunch.

Since we decided kind of last minute to spend new years on Koh Lipe, this was the only available option for 3 people unless staying in a dorm.
It seemed OK on the pictures and decided to book despite of the very varying reviews.

The welcome was warm and the staff was  OK.
The bungalow was really bad standard.
Beds were hard, fans were not strong enough to reach the bed from the attached place on the wall. Limited light, mosquito nets around the windows were broken.
Lots of insects and small animals around (mosquito, ants, flies, geccos, millipedes and cockroaches)

Every day the water was out, one full day and the others sporadically throughout the day. Both for toilet and shower. and when we asked about info they answered "ah yeah some problems, will be fixed soon. We are all in the same situation so don't worry if you don't shower today." probably ment as a joke but not what you want to hear on new years eve after a day at the beach. Luckily they managed to connect the water pipe to the neighbour resort and  we at least got some water, although it was very unstable and unreliable. 

Location was good but for swimming we had to visit the other beaches since pattaya beach is overcrowded with longtail boats. 

All in all not super happy with our stay, koh lipe is amazing and since we only stayed in the bungalow when sleeping  it was alright. 

Would have appreciated some chairs on the veranda or maybe a hammock to relax in. 


Bare minimum, just a roof over your head 

We stayed at the Blue Tribes for 4 nights. 
The room was ok, but wasn‘t cleanded every day but the staff is very friendly. 

There‘s a Beachclub located more or less next door where they play kind of House Music until 1am which was a bit annoying as well as the transport street next to the resort. 

We still really liked the location as it is very central. Check out the reggae bar ;)

So so...

DON’T STAY HERE!! They overbook and they didn’t let us know in advanced so not only they left us with nowhere to go in a very high season weekend (chinesse new  year)  but when we ask some gurantee that they will cancel the booking so they don’t kept our money, the owner was EXTREMELY rude and violent, he try to hit us (we are 2 woman) and his staff had to stop him. He even cursed at me. Very violent and bad way to start our holiday.

VERY VIOLENT AND DISRESPECTFUL OWNER

This hotel doesn’t qualify as a resort.
The rooms are small, not very clean, run down and shady. You don’t get to have a warm shower since there is no hot water. Internet works only half of the time. No aircon, no fridge, lots of cockroaches. These rooms are hugely overpriced, as seems to be the whole island.

The location is ok, close to the place where the boats from the mainland drop you off. It’s nice to sit at the beach at night and have a drink or two. And that is really what you need to do. There is no way anyone can sleep in the noise coming from the night club (or whatever it may be) next door. Just awful! Worst ever! Bring earplugs said someone, as if they help to reduce that god awful noise...

Lots of restaurants at the Walking street. We recommend Elephant cafe for breakfast!

The beach in front of the resort is just ok, not good. There is a lovely beach at the other side of the island.

Book a room in any other hotel. Overpriced.

For the price you pay you can get much better. The location is good and the garden ok. The rest is just bad. Hard beds, boring moldsmelling rooms with no cozyness at all. Expensive overpriced food in the restaurant. There are places close by with much higher standard for about the same price. If we had not already paid for 4 nights we would change imidieatly. 

Dont stay here.

First we arrive at koh lipe, and settle about immigration and everything thn we going  through the hotel, and c/in, unbelievable the resort is near by the beach and near to the walking street! and the reception so so so friendly, he so kind , is very suprp kind!! and our room is awesome, im suggest this place for relaxing. and the afternoon we go to walking street find some food, normally for muslim is easy to find Halal food because many muslim at koh lipe, so  depends on you guys which one is better, about the price is not to expensive and not very cheap, i’m telling like so so👌🏻.  after that, we book tour combining pakej 

1. 650bth  pakej A
(Snorkeling 5 island)

2.800bth  pakej B.  =1450 bth
(Snorkeling with plankton)

for 10hour normally the price will be 1450bth something, but!!! that guy give discount and free SJCAM for rent!!! and we just pay 800bth i’m like seriously? he so kind and friendly also funny 😂. we very excited and enjoy our holiday.. and i hope the coral will be the same after year and year.
