Our booking was done at last minute, and we arrived in the B&B late, the service crew was waiting for us to arrive and being super friendly greeting us with Lotus tea and snacks, plus the detailed introduction where to visit, where to eat and travel advice etc. The warm hospitality in the beginning made us feel like visiting a friend's house. 
The location is good to access night market and 羅東sport park, where is nice to have a walk after diner. It's quite at night, in the day time, there might be a bit car noise if you stay out in the balcony, however, it's quite quiet all the time if you stay in the room.  It's easy to access to the B&B by car, but It may require pick up service if you don't have a car. 
The room is comfortable with nice view and balcony, the room we stayed is with open space, good for couples ( if you don't mind to have transparent shower room and toilet ).  There’s a nice typical Taiwanese  restaurant near by, and the B&B helped to book for us, the food ingredient is fresh and the food display is sophisticated, we did enjoy the food there. 
We originally planed just to stay only for one night, with the great service enables us to extend one more night. I do believe to stay in the B&B is one of the best way to experience the local culture. This B&B is recommended to stay.

Good design and experience. I am glad that we can stay with our puppy. A dog friendly B&B. 是寵物友善民宿。到建築師會館的路上 窗外的景色先從都市慢慢變成鄉村田野景色 令人疲憊的心靈慢慢放鬆下來 進房安頓好後 我們就跟會館主人借了協力車 騎在會館附近的鄉間小路 讓人原本緊繃的心情都放鬆了 回到會館後 我就先去洗澡 浴室內的浴池非常大 可以給2-3個人一起泡澡 天花板上還有一個別出心裁的小設計---天窗 可以看向外面 正體來說非常的好 讓人想要下次再來住

The owner super friendly, warm welcome to the house upon check in, my room was upgraded to bigger room with excellence open view.  She has also shared many useful info & updates, prompt response & very hospitality! 

The 涌泉 inside the room is very relaxing after a long day, the bed is also very comfortable! Good choice & will recommend for a restful stay in Yilan, enjoyed & thank you! 👍

A beautiful & restful stay!

Due to some delay on our flight from Singapore to Taipei and some confusion (my fault) on how to reach Architect Mansion, it was about 730pm by the time we reached the homestay. I was slightly concerned as the place was quiet and dark. But I was quite sure we got to the right place as the architecture is distinctive and same as all the photos on Tripadvisor. 

I did the equivalent of "anybody home？“ in mandarin and a lady immediately responded and came down the external stairs to greet us. She was very helpful although she wasn't expecting us. There seemed to be a little confusion over our booking. That was quickly resolved and the lady was so nice that she gave us an upgrade to a bigger (huge) room with a big hottub. She suggested that we head out for dinner first while she freshen up the room for us. When we got back from Luodong night market, the room was tidied up and our bags were all moved in. We quickly settled in, had a good soak in the tub and had a good night rest as it had been a long day.

The next morning, while waiting for our breakfast, we had a chat with the owner Mr Yang, the "Architect" in Architect Mansion. From our chat we can feel the passion Mr Yang have for Yilan and he gave us some background on Yilan and recommended a few interesting places for us to visit. The local style breakfast was also quite tasty, we had some sandwiches and sticky rice washed down with soy milk. 

As we were only staying overnight we had to pack up and get ready to check out soon after our late breakfast. But the owners were very accommodating, we left our stuff at the homestay, borrow their bicycles  and headed out to our lunch appointment at the famous Shen Yen Teppanyaki which was only 3km away and there was a very scenic riding path on the riverbank that we could cycle all the way there. After we got back from lunch the staff at the homestay was very helpful in assisting us to arrange for a big and comfortable taxi so that we can load our bags in and head to our next destination.

We will be back to Yilan and Architect Mansion, 1 night there is definitely not enough.

Over-Night Stay at Architect Mansion

Stayed here for 2 nites with my husband and my  4 year old son. The rooms are huge and great for family. It comes with 2 double beds and a huge tub big enough for the whole family to enjoy a soak. 

This is a homestay so don't expect much housekeeping or room services. I had problems with the air-con, it was making a lot of flapping noise and I had a sleepless first night. The problem was rectified after complaining to the owner next morning. 

Owner is warm and friendly. Environment is relaxing and a nice country side. 

Breakfast is a nice home-cooked porridge for the whole family. Basic amenities are provided for. 

It's a 10mins taxi ride to Luo Tong night market. Taxi ride is ard twd150.
