The_Budget_Gourmand

My wife and I spent a night at The Guest House when visiting our son in Zurich. Its an odd place - it looks like a block of flats surrounded by other blocks of flats in a residential area. However, it is a bit of a hidden gem. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful - both days they allowed is to leave our car there FOC before and after checking in, so we could explore Zurich by public transport (the mountain railway station is a 5 minute walk away and just 4 stops from Zurich main station.) The furnishings in the rooms look a little tired - like '50s student accommodation - but were spotlessly clean and the facilities were top-notch (the shower was extremely powerful, which we loved.) It was a great place for a no-hassle stopover and we plan to go there again on our next visit.
