Apelvik Strand

Family of 4, with children aged 7 and 11. Our two weeks in the summer was our 5 visit to Apelvikstrand Strandhus, and it says it all. We love this place and usually order a 2-week stay. These cottages are modern, and well decorated. They are "small", but designed so that they feel more spacious. The cottage have kitchen, living room, a master bedroom, and a second bedroom with 4 beds. There are also a sleeping bed in the living room. These cottages are connected 2 and 2, with a lot of space between each for children to play. You have to bring own linens and towels, and clean the cottage before leaving. The beautiful beach is next to the cottages. The beach is shallow, so it also fits for small children's. There are also a charming and popular bar, restaurant and skate ramp 100 meters from the area. The place is named "Majas vid havet" In the weekends there can be concerts at this Majas, so there to avoid "noise" I recommend to book cottage 1 to 20 since these are placed farther away. Also consider the sun when you book. Do you prefer morning or afternoon sun on the platform, since these cottages are places against each other. Following have morning sun: 1-8, and 17-24. Pleas notice that there are space around the cottage to enjoy the sun. There are a TV in the living rom, with Swedish TV channels and 1 Norwegian and Danish. They have free internet, but then you need a cable. We bring our own router to have Wi-Fi. They have a free parking for each cottage, and some extra guest parking. Toilets in the cottages are small, but in cottage 13 and 14 are toilets and bathroom expanded in 1. Only a couple of 100 meters from the area is the famous local restaurant "John's place" with good food. About 500 meters from the area is a big camping area with 2 miniature golf courses, 2 restaurants, and a small grocery. About 5 minutes drive from the cottages are a very nice and big COOP grocery with a wide variety food and drink. I will highly recommend the seafront promenade from the camping area and to the Varberg castle in the city. It's a 3 km walk. This is also a lovely walk when it's windy. Bring your camera :-) Mid July they arrange "Hallifornia" in Varberg, which is fun for both children and grownups. I could have written a lot more but........ Both "ApelvikStrand Strandhus" and the Varberg city is a highly recommended place for a 1-2 week vacation
