This is a delightful property and the experience of living in a home stay was our best thus far.... we chose an AC room for this time of year (late March) and even on a setting of 22C it would get too cold at night so we had to switch off the AC and pretty much use the fan for the remainder of the night.
The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, fitted with mosie net. The toilet was huge with hot/cold water supply.
The food all freshly home cooked was absolutely delicious and extremely economical. We stayed for 4 nights and had breakfast daily, and lunch and dinner more than once. Dinal saw to our every need and his Mom is a wonderful cook and most gracious host. If you ever want to try authentic Sri Lankan food this is the place to do it! 
The property is perfectly located.... approx 1km from the Weligama Dive Centre and in the other direction to the Weligama (surfers) Beach and downtown areas. We walked every where as it only takes 15-20mins. 
We were there to do some diving courses and unfortunately never had the time to go out surfing with Dinal (who will even teach you) or for a river/lake safari by boat. Whatever you need, just ask Dinal ! 
We had an amazing stay and next time we visit Weligama/Mirissa, this is where we will stay !!

The best homestay experience till date !

We have 4 children from 8mths to 13yrs and took a 2wk holiday in Sri Lanka. Our first week was spent at the Frangipani home after being collected by Anur in his air-con minibus. This was all arranged online through his nephew, Dinal. Anur ended up driving us for the whole trip, eventually through Ela to Arugum Bay and back. The aircon in the minibus and in the rooms was a necessity in June with temperatures rising to 40°C! Also mosquito nets were a must.

Frangipani homestay was arranged online through Dinal. We stayed with his Mother & Grandmother who welcomed us into their home. They cooked amazing meals for us and provided us with drinks. The house and rooms were clean and spacious and after a day on the beach, the kids could chill out in front of tv while dinner was being prepared. We sat outside in the entrance watching the rain and lightning one evening, and if you are lucky you will see Monkeys eating the mangos in the trees, but there is no garden to use. There is only one shower/toilet which works fine unless there is a power cut & the shower goes a bit chilly!

The location is a 5 minute walk to the beach opposite a small island, but this time of year is not tourist season so be prepared for a bit of crowd if you are female and want to sunbath/swim here. We took a tuk-tuk to the other side of the beach near the hotels where there are restaurants & surfboard-hire but less eyes watching you! The tuk-tuk was the equivalent to 50p. The market is a 10 minute walk and is well worth a visit for a vast array of fruit half of which I'd never seen before! We also visited a turtle-sanctuary and some buddhist/hindu temples. You can do this by tuk-tuk or with a driver/taxi.

All in all Frangipani home was a friendly B&B that we thoroughly enjoyed.
