We stayed there only couple of nights in Feb 2018. After negotiating the price with the owner,we decided to stay there. The place was ok, it had all we needed - bed, mosquito net and shower. However it could have been cleaner. I swear the bed sheets were not changed by look and smell too. The place has nice outside area to chill out. There are 2 owners, one with a child seemed very nice, the other one is a little bit crazy. I mean if you are a man, you have nothing to worry about, if you are a female better to ignore him. He is just little too intense, although I travelled with my boyfriend, he did not mind to bother with stupid comments. He got quite drunk and noisy at night with other quests which was not very cool.

Cheap room, close to Sigiriya rock. Could be cleaner.. little bit noisy at night because the rooms are close to the main road. 
I don’t recommend it for a girl who travel by herself.. the owner can be insistent and make the stay very embarrassing.. 

Good for one night 

Stayed 1 night with my boyfriend on a recent stay to Sri Lanka.

Had everything we needed: air con, mosquito nets, comfortable bed and free wifi. 

Only negatives: It was noisy as near the road and the room was dated, basic and could have been cleaner. However it was cheap so we weren't expecting a palace and the positives definitely outweighed the negatives.

The best things about this accommodation were the really friendly staff, the view of Sigiriya rock from the back yard and the delicious dinner! There is a wee restaurant in the yard and they served a Sri Lankan curry with lots of small dishes to try. We had asked if they had any beer and they made sure there was some in the fridge before we went to eat so that was another bonus. 

In the morning we woke early and went with the chef (Chris) and his son for a swim in a lake that was ~1km walk away. A good budget hotel and if you stay elsewhere then I would still recommend coming here for dinner!

1 night stay near Pidarangula Rock

Decent place within walking distance of Sigiriya rock. To get here the bus from Dambulla will stop off outside. it's a small place with 4 rooms. The room was comfy with fan and en suite bathroom. Everyone was helpful. There is a few restaurants nearby as well with a 5 minute walk into "town" If you have a few days to explore Sigiriya and Dambulla this is a good value place to stay.

Good value

Location is good, next to the Lion rocks and to some restaurants. However, it is quite noisy as it is just next to the main road and the walls are really thin. 
The place is falling apart, literally. Rooms are awful (our worst hotel in Sri Lanka, by far), it smells like mould everywhere. 
Owner is really intense: trying to sell things (anything really) all the time and not giving any privacy (knocking on the door for no real reason, just seating and watching us having breakfast). It was just too much! 
Breakfast is not homemade, he is buying it from a shop nextdoor. However, it was nice to discover Sri Lankan breakfast. 
Overall, I'm pretty sure you can find (way) better value for money.
