Had an awesome time at Pello Lake Resort , the staff was really great - ( the 2 guys ) , I just felt being home at my stay over there with my family and friends . My next stay will be definitely at Pello Lake Resort - an ideal place for a peaceful stay , highly recommended for a reasonable price. 

Stay with peace of mind 

Nice place with limited resources.but it were fit for our budget.and especially Roshan were very helpfull.he did his best for our comfort.we will visit again.thanks for your valuable corporation for us.

Humble staff especially Roshan

One of the dumpiest places in Sri Lanka.  Staff were kind but overall the place lacks basic housekeeping and cleanliness.  The rooms were extremely damp so that we got sick, the pillows and bed sheets were not clean and smelled like grease from other people.  The staff even knew that the pillows were dirty and they had towels on the bed labeling them for use as pillow cases.  Dogs Howling outside at night bothered the ears and plastic bush fires scented the room.  Also the showers didn't even have a curtain so the whole room got wet.  And warm water taking thirty mins was a joke.  We were glad when we finally left the place and made sure to clean our feet off when leaving the place.  Also was a major rip off to stay there at 9000 rupees for a triple with no breakfast. They have child labor going on in there too.  Avoid at all costs. 

Wipe your feet off before you leave the place.  

We stayed at Pello Lake Resort with my sister for two nights. I don't know what the "Resort" in the name refers too, but we were very disappointed. 

Due to a late booking, our tour operator was not able to book their usual hotel, and they let us stay there. Nonetheless the nice welcome from the owner and staff - and the complimentary dinner that was offered, we would not recommend the place. 

- Stinky hallway and room; 
- Filthy pillow cases and towels;
- Terrace full of bird poop; 
- 30' necessary to get hot water in a weird bathroom where the toilet is not properly separated from the shower (very weak pressure);
- Remote location, next to some houses (expect barking dogs, and a bell to wake up the village at 7) - if you want to move to the center of Nuwara Eliya you need a driver
- Food in the restaurant was ok, but not exceptional - toxic mold on the restaurant walls

All in all, the staff tried to make our stay as confortable as possible - even moving the WIFI router so that we could get WIFI in our room. However, in my opinion, this hotel does not meet the standard of quality we would expect from a booked roundtrip - it is rather backpack standard.

we stayed in pello lake resort in nuwara eliya for 2 days in february 2017. it was booked through a travel agent. we were apprehensive about the hotel as both me and my wife and also my mother who accompanied us on this religious tour are very choosy and look for minute details.
happy to say that the hotel was good enough but for some small hitches. its slightly away from the city so if you plan to stay here you should have your own vehicle to move out. but than the view and ambience of the hotel will make you forget about such problems. the hotel owner, mr neel was good enough to change our room from 2nd floor to ground floor looking at the age of my mother who is 85 years. he was always available and made our stay very comfortable. breakfast was good too . over all, nuwara eliya is a good place to visit because of its hill station feel . do plan a tour and you will never regret going there.
