We have stayed twice in this hotel and found the staff very helpful indeed.  The rooms are spacious with a small kitchenette, ideal for making breakfast or light meals. There is an excellent restaurant next to the hotel called  El Rubio which specialises in seafood. The scenery around Vidiago/Llanes is spectacular being close to the beaches with their famous 'bufones' and also to glorious mountains such as the Picos de Europa.  Perfect for walking or cycling.

Excellent bistro hotel in fabulous Asturias

A nice place to stay and visit the wonderful west Asturian small towns, historical sites and landscape. Nice Asturian restaurants in the surroundings. Llena and Covadonga (Asturias) and Potes and S. Vicente de la Barquera (Cantabria) are not far away. "Picos da Europa" natural park is also nearby. Car is advised.

La Casona de Viriago

This quaint and quiet village provided relaxation and many opportunities to explore a variety of historical locations, do physical exercise and savor local gastronomy. It is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The 1 week visit provided us with a little piece of heaven. The building complex is unique and charming with just  enough equipment to make a vacation stay enjoyable.

La Casona de Vidiago

The unit is very simple. Basically furnished. The reception  works only a few hours a day. There is no activity inside the site except for a restaurant.. A car must. Full flies.I will not return to this site

Poor

Great location for beach and mountains,resort is clean and tidy accommodation decor and furniture in keeping with the age of the Building.  Nice size pool  local bar and restaurant within 50 meters.Would definitely use again. It helps if you can speak a little Spanish but locals very friendly and helpful.

Northern Spain Trip

Good location for visiting the mountains and trips along the coast. Room was fine though at night the unit was poorly lit; it requires more interior lighting
Would struggle for things to do if the weather is bad.

Week in the Picos mountains

This was the second time we have stayed in Casona de Vidiago.  The quaint, rustic hotel has lovely spacious rooms and the staff are very helpful.  It is close to the lovely sandy coves and beaches along the north coast of Spain and the ancient pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela.  Better still, it's within reach of the stunning scenery of the Picos de Europa mountains. There is so much to see and do in Asturias where cows graze on lush, green grass, producing gorgeous cheeses and apple orchards, producing delicious local cider, not to mention the glorious array of seafood. There are many caves with amazing prehistoric wall paintings, such as the famous Altamira cave and beautiful medieval cities and villages with their distinctive wooden framed houses with balconies . We stayed in October and the weather was warm and sunny enough to eat outside in one of many inexpensive restaurants, including the Casa el Rubiu, along the lane from the hotel,

Ideally situated for the wonderful, scenic, Picos de Europa

In a lovely quiet village, it was adequate for our needs.  The apartment we stayed in, No.1, was a little tired.,  The kitchen facilities were very basic and could do with an upgrade.  We were the furthest from Reception so the Internet was poor.  Having said that the staff were very nice and we really enjoyed our week there.  There are lots of places to visit on a beautiful coastline and the town of Llanes is only a few minutes drive away with lots of restaurants and bars.  Just 100 metres from the apt was a lovely restaurant and bar but unfortunately only open on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday because we were out of season. 

Beautiful Area

La Casana is rustic but comfortable. It has a kitchen but basic. The pool is outstanding and we had coffee and croissant overlooking every morning. Asturias is breathing taking. They provided a nice book of places to visit.

Wonders of Asturias

The hotel is beautiful within a charming rural village. The staff were very helpful. Ana assisted us with local area activities. Comfortable and clean accommodations. Many nearby sightseeing opportunities from beaches to mountains. Several delicious, traditional restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely stay here again if we’re ever in Asturias.
