We are always pleasantly welcomed as old acquaintances and enjoy the warmth of the solid wooden furniture. This guesthouse is owner managed and very well maintained. The smallest detail is tended for, from a hairdryer, mirrors in the right places, extra plugs available, a steam iron and iron board to a box to shine your shoes on. 
The private patio is special for those warm summer evenings, the air conditioner has a setting to set the temperature to warm the room gently in the colder winter months. How very thoughtful of our hosts!

Elegantly decorated guesthouse

This is an absolutey charming property, meticulously maintained and tastefully decorated with well crafted solid wooden furniture exuding a very yesteryear air of elegance. But modern creature comforts were also at hand...! 

My room included a mini kitchenette equipped with a fridge, microwave oven, kettle, crockery and cutlery. Plus complimentary Wi-Fi. The weather didn't allow me to enjoy the patio outside my room but I reckon it must be an absolute pleasure in warmer times of the year. 

Guests can personally construct their breakfast menu from a wide array of options. It was delivered to my room on the dot at the exact time requested. The owners even very kindly drove me to the University the next morning. I felt truly pampered. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience, Janine and Johannes

Comfortable, Cosy, Secure and Conveniently located

excellent location, close to embassies, especially Russian embassy. Accommodation is very good, very homely and the furniture is made by the owners themselves. Rooms are huge, heaters work very well in winter

Owners very friendly and helpful

I have now stayed at this guest house twice and I want to confirm that it is an overall good stay.  The rooms are very neat and very homely with all the woodwork meticulously done by the landlord.  They have all the amenities and the breakfast have been my personal favorite every morning.  Surely a recommended stay.

Overall good experience

The Avalon guesthouse is a very pleasant B&B with all the necessary amenities.  It is very conveniently located - close to a number of consulates and near enought to the CBD, but still has a very peaceful ambiance.

Great stay!

I had to book in Pretoria close to the Russian consulate as I was applying for a Russian visa. Fortunately I came across Avalon guest house . I loved it from the time I walked into my room. Cosy, warm and comfortable. All the furniture contained is handmade. Room rates include breakfast as well. Rooms contain a mini kitchenette with basic facilities, a small fridge and a microwave. Guest house is safe and secure and within walking distance is a mall close by. For future visits I will always want to stay here. Definitely recommended to all travelers visiting pretoria
