What a wonderful stay we had at Farquhar Lodge. With its individual chalets set among the trees, it is a haven of peace in a busy, urban setting. The kitchen provided delicious breakfasts and suppers and the friendly staff were willing to adapt the menu to cater for vegans as well. They really went the extra mile to make our stay memorable and the concern and caring shown when we had an unfortunate experience in Lady Smith was remarkable. A great, big thank you to all concerned, but especially Cindy.

Excellent service

Ben and his team accommodated myself and my family for a week during a very difficult time. 

They went out of their way to assist us, I cannot thank them enough. 
our arrangements and requirements changed daily and they handled everything so well. 
I can highly recommend Farquhar lodge, clean rooms, great breakfast amazing service and amazing facilities.

Outstanding service

The New Management made a huge difference to the atmosphere ar the lodge. Very clean spacious rooms and friendy staff. Nice home cooked meals.  Will highly recommend the lodge. Very centrally located and easy to find.

A comfortable stay catering for the needs of business visitors to the area. 

The vegetarian options at breakfast was a nice touch. The facilities are well looked after and the staff friendly and helpful. A good spot to stay over indeed! 

Friendly, welcoming and convenient 

My family and i stayed at farquhar lodge for 1 night and  every thing was fine, very neat rooms and bathrooms.we were welcomed by lovely little lulu and her mum. and i must say i slept like a baby that night on a comfortable bed and in quiet surroundings.
Breakfast was good and gate access was easy.
overall good quality and excellent value for money.

A pleasant stay

We were on our way back to Waterfall from the Kruger Park, and had booked here as a rest stop for the night. There was very little about this place that I liked.

The bedrooms are far from the parking and the paths uneven with some steep gradients which my elderly father-in-law found difficult to manage.

There was no toilet roll holder and hardly any towel rails in the bathroom.

For supper, all that was on offer was a mutton curry. We have a vegetarian and a non-curry eater in our party and when I asked if another option could be offered, I was told a flat 'no'. A few minutes later, they changed their minds and offered fish as an alternative.

It is clear that this place receives little to no maintenance.

We did not expect to see the manager in the evening as we arrived quite late but had hoped to be greeted by someone in the morning but they didn't bother.

I have stayed at some excellent B&B's in Ladysmith but this isn't one of them.

They seemed to have very few guests and I'm not surprised.

Don't waste your time or money!

Won't recommend. Guest house manager would not allow us back in on Sunday afternoon after arrangement was made for our exhibition material to be stored overnight until courier service could collect on Monday morning. She simply refused to open gate or take calls from us.
