Annette was extremely accommodating to me (even after I hadn't booked dinner on a Sunday night which she promptly rustled up) Room was good, food was perfect. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Just what I needed

Arum Chine for me was pretty average and the location wasn't the greatest. Annette is really fantastic and her dinner was superb along with the desert and side salad. 

The room I had was slightly dated and a little on the small side but this does not indicate all the rooms, a few things to note;
-There was no valance sheet on the base of the bed.
-The head board was not attached to the wall so it knocked everytime I changed my sleep position.
-The TV was in a make shift wooden cupboard which made it awkward to watch while lying down.

Don't get me wrong, these are only the things I picked out as I am pretty pedantic. In my opinion, this Guest house could do with a little more attention to detail and although the booking was done for me through my corporate travel, the price seemed a little high compared to where I have stayed in the past.

Annette, you are wonderful, your hospitality and gift in the kitchen was truly house warming, I hope you don't take this personally.

Great place for last minute booking

I stayed here recently for an overnight stop, and I was really pleasantly surprised. 
Easy to find, good location, ample safe parking and quick and easy check-in. 
The rooms are very comfortable and clean. There's in room coffee and tea facilities and at this price level the free Wifi is a great unexpected surprise! 
The bed was super comfortable, I had a fantastic nights sleep, and the shower was good with plenty of hot water. Small but vital things that makes your stay just that much more enjoyable. 
Dinner and breakfast was a highlight! For Dinner there was a traditional South African Braai, delicious and reasonably priced too, especially as it included dessert! Breakfast was a huge English Breakfast with everything you can think of along with freshly made coffee. Yummy! 
Annette is a great host, she really made me feel at home, and as she is also a qualified Chef, it is no wonder the food is amazing. 
If I am ever in East London again, I will be sure to stay here!
