My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of visiting Pleasant Places situated along the Midlands Meander! Samu at reception was very kind and accommodating. They had put our hot blankets on which was amazing when we climbed into bed as the weather was very cold during our stay. For breakfast we enjoyed a lovely selection of fruits, yoghurt and granola with fresh juice. The rooms are well equipped with all the essentials (no TVS)  and smell lovely! We had a great view from the bathroom and the dining area. Housekeeping comes in each day to tidy the room which was much appreciated- they do have a little coffee and tea station in the rooms which is great for those late nights. We never had any issues (only a spider in out bathroom so keep your eyes peeled!) but Samu was so sweet, she managed to find us some boardgames to play. They do have trails you can wonder through and appreciate the greenery. You do have to drive through the township to get there but it is so worth it! Will definitely be back!

Hidden Meander Gem

The staff was so welcoming and eager to help. From the date of arrival to the day we left. They also provided a car wash, twice even, free of charge. The food was amazing and was an experince on its own. Enjoyed the walking trails. A memorable stay.

It was an absolute pleasure lodging at this establishment, the service and food was amazing. The serenity of the place is exactly what I needed, the birds chirping and the sound of the flowing river was therapeutic.

Tranquility at its best

First and foremost the FOOD. The view from Room number 5 where I was staying is like looking into Nat Geo. This provided me a picturesque working backdrop as I still had office work that I was handling. Lovely staff and amazing hospitality, it felt like I was at my sisters house. 

Pleasant Stay at Pleasant Places

This was an absolute beautiful place. Perfect for families. We stayed for one night and wish we could have stayed longer, so we will definitely be back. And the owners are such lovely people. A big thumbs up from us

We loved it

I cannot say enough how much I loved my stay. The host is uber hospitable & made sure our needs were fully met. I highly reccomend a stay if you want the peace & tranquility in nature along with 5***** hospitality.

Super pleasant

Pleasant Places was the most amazing and stunning place we have had the privilege of staying at. The views of the country side are breath-taking and the rooms are incredible! To top it off you get the most delicious breakfast and they even wash your car so you leave in a clean car! So amazing and the attention to detail by the incredible hosts is unbeatable! If you want to have beautiful, serene relaxation, do yourself a favour and spend an evening at this wonderful place! 

Breathtakingly Beautiful

We stayed here for 3 nights while attending a wedding nearby and can confirm it was one of the best value and enjoyable stays I’ve had in the midlands.

Our hosts were extremely welcoming and did everything possible to make us as comfortable as possible. They offered us recommendations of places to visit in the area that did not disappoint. 

The food selection was simple but always of a high standard including the 3 course dinner we requested due to arriving late on Friday night. I particularly enjoyed the honesty bar which had a huge selection of gins, wines and whiskies at fair prices.

The property is very well located for exploring the Midlands. It is about half way between Nottingham road and Howick so all the attractions are just a short drive away. There is about 3km of gravel road leading to the property but it was well maintained and the sedans in our group managed with ease even in the wet. The guest house is built on the side of a hill which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and valley. I have stayed in a few guest houses in the Midlands located closer to town such as the Nottingham road Hotel and enjoyed the peaceful countryside setting of this property much more.

The rooms were very comfortable and had a country theme. Make sure to request a room with a good view of the valley. The underfloor heating was a welcome feature as we had a cold spell on the last night. The common areas have been recently renovated and are modern with rustic elements which give these areas have a high-end boutique hotel feel.

Overall very enjoyable and I will definitely be returning here next time I am in the Midlands.

 More Than Pleasant

Most Pleasant, great surround, very relaxing and quiet. Food very good. Hosts great but not in your face. Wonderful big bed and comfy. Ideal if you want a to stroll around the pathways or just enjoy the fresh air.

Weekend at this Hotel

Beautiful location, friendly and excellent service, and awesome food. 
Location is remote and great for a peaceful getaway, with breathtaking views. 
The only drawback was that I found a few spiders in the room
