Nice, clean, friendly and safe hotel with excellent wi-fi at reception and bar. Great pools, good food and reasonably priced. Nice little village with arts and crafts for sale. Locals a bit too eager to sell.

Very nice hotel

You can view the many pictures of the pool on their website and on tripadvisor.  The pools (there are three of them) are great, especially if you have a toddler, the kiddie pool is huge and has a little waterfall, it is great.  There are two small sandy beach areas where you can find seashells right next to the hotel, not big enough to lounge on, but they are clean and the water is shallow for a ways out and makes for nice shell hunting.  As soon as you step foot off of hotel property you are "game" for the locals to sell you things.

The room was pretty nice, very roomy and the a/c worked well.  The wifi did not work in the rooms, and I believe the cable was about 6 channels, but we weren't there to use either of those, so not a big deal.  Lunch and dinner were very expensive at the on-site restaurant and not very good...many local restaurants had much better food for less.

Location...if I were to go back to Saly I would probably look for something further away from the local art market/village and discos, very loud and Noisy, and a large number of street vendors looking to sell you something.  I would also be more interested in a hotel that had a good restaurant, but does not charge so much to dine there, It would have been nice to relax at the hotel all day without having to go out all the time for lunch and dinner.

Not a Bad choice

I was in this hotel for 6 days for a work-related event. 

The good: The gardens. Food was good. 

The mediocre: The rooms and the service. I specifically asked for a room that was quiet…and I could hear every step of the person above me. I complained TWICE about the shower gel dispenser not working. Never solved. Soap was the only amenity, and it was cheap and bad. Cleanliness was mediocre. There were mosquitos even though it was not the worst season (not the hotel’s fault), but no mosquito nets! 

The bad: If you are thinking this is a beach resort, it’s not. There is no beach. There is the garden, the pool, and right there is the sea, lots of rocks, so I don’t think anyone can swim. In a whole week I did not see anyone venture into the sea. The food is good, but there are birds picking at everything in the buffet. I guess they didn’t see the movie “contagion”. I made sure I ate things from the grill, and whatever managed to be covered and away from birds. Payment by credit card raised more than 1 eyebrow, and they charged 2,5% additional. Yes, it was written on the wall behind the counter, but it’s highly questionable from a hotel that says it is 4 star. The meeting room was horrible. First of all, carpet in a tropical place? Secondly, the size is for no more than 20 people comfortably seated. There are some shabby red curtains to protect from bright sunlight outside. They should just call the room a warehouse and stop promoting it as a meeting/event room. I thought it was expensive: 2 or 3 dollars for a beer?

I have no idea how other hotels in the are compare to this one, but I am guessing for the same price you could get better.

A mediocre place by the sea

Arrived at reception to be received by a receptionist who had feet up on a chair could not be bothered to at least get up and attend to us speaking as if i was bothering her from her break or something was so put off got a taxi to another hotel did not bother checking the rooms but must recommend the security guard so helpful with taxi and location of alternative hotel. 

Put off

Arrived for a workshop with my partner. Was informed that we had to take full or half-pension and that all prices were per person and not per room!  Although the grounds are pleasant (village type with peacocks and Baobabs etc) - the prices are astronomical and almost everywhere else in Saly is cheaper and the food better than in the Teranga.  We moved out after one night - but attended the workshop daily.  The grass is watered and looks great - the result is a swarm of mosquitoes at night that do not occur elsewhere - also cockroaches in the bedrooms.  The beach is miserable with concrete rubble dumped by the hotel along the beach edge.  Stay somewhere else!
