We stayed in the duplex apartment and were very comfortable. Alex welcomed us warmly and spent time recommending restaurants and local areas to visit. We would certainly return. The view from the apartment were probably the best in Porto. The history of the building is evident in every stone and piece of furniture. A tasteful combination of ancient and modern.

I'm so glad we booked this place to stay whilst visiting Porto to attend a wedding. The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. We stayed in the Duplex apartment which included amazing views from the attached garden. The owner was so friendly and helpful. Just a delight to deal with. Rooms are well priced and spotlessly clean. There was free parking for our two motorbikes directly outside the apartments. Overalls highly recommend this place for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Porto , we will certainly be back ! 

I stayed for only 3 night at Porto first time. Manor House Porto is the best location and the best view. It's just 3 minutes walk from the most famous Cathedral. The house is old but you can feel days at many years ago. From the room, the view of the bridge and the other side of the river are more than expected. Alex, the host, is very kind and handsome guy.
Don't miss it if you go to Porto.

The sublime view from the terrace is reason enough to stay here. We stayed in the ground-floor studio and absolutely loved waking up to the postcard-perfect views of the Dom Luis Bridge and the Douro River. The building itself is quite old and the room was rather damp (which a dehumidifer took care of reasonably well), but it's a perfectly good tradeoff for the price, convenience, and, again, that view.

An appartment located centrally in the old town of Porto with a great view (in reality even beter then on the many pictures) in an historic building, renovated without loosing it's charming character.  We were welcomed warmly by the host, who was very helpfull and took the time to inform us about nice restaurants and other usefull addresses.
Right around the corner (down the stairs left if you leave the building) is also a very nice wine and tapasbar.
Whenever we return to Porto, we will surely revisit both.

This was just great. Our own garden with a view on the ponte luis I. Unbeatable. We were in awe when we arrived and the place before this we had a view at sao jorge castle in lisbon. This was even more impressive. The apartment itself had a lot of character. It wasn't perfect for langer stays due to the lack of kitchen facilities.

We stayed here for 5 nights in April. Ground floor apartment right by the cathedral with a lovely terrace with fantastic views over the douro and bridge. We were meet at airport by Claudia who was very friendly and helpful. Everything in walking distance for us although very hilly and lots of steps. Hope to return next year.

Location and views

We loved the huge apartment and the views from the living room of the famous bridge. We arrived two days late on a Sunday due to a storm in Texas and no one received us at the building or check to see if we were ok or happy with the place.
 There was a very bad sewer smell coming from the bathroom constantly smelling very bad. The kitchen was very large but had very little necessities like our other apartments during our honeymoon in Europe. We never did figure out the tv/dvd players, but we were there much to enjoy them. This was a very unique building with some interesting decorations. 
It has a lot of room with its two large bedrooms and even a big entry room with another bed/couch. So it would great for a family. With a little fixing of these problems it would have been a even better experience. That’s why I have only given 3 stars

Great view and location, but bad smells

I booked the studio apartment for two nights.  From the Manor House website there is nothing to indicate it has no view of the Douro, nor access to any of the beautiful gardens or terraces shown.  Reviewing the booking.com website I now see a little note stating "note only some units have access to garden"  Owner was apologetic but I certainly felt misled. The studio has windows overlooking street.  
Prior exchanges with owner were quite good, but this was a bad introduction to what was otherwise a terrific trip to Portugal.
