Porto Persona Guesthouse

You will rarely ,if ever ,stay in a better Guest House. Louisa ,ably supported by Fatima and Lourdes ,make you feel part of their family whilst respecting your privacy and needs at all times. We stayed in the Yellow Room which was superb ,large with alcove ,bathroom and terrace ,but the whole house has been meticulously restored by Louisa and oozes character .Breakfast is exceptional with loads of choice and cake and port/coffee will be left in your room for your return later in the day ! Nothing is too much trouble.The Guest House is located near Casa da Musica in a quieter more authentic neighbourhood than the city centre but with excellent metro and bus connections on your doorstep as well as a full range of local amenities including shops ,cafes and restaurants.We particularly liked the food courts at Mercado Bom Sucesso . Louisa ,Fatima and Lourdes are always there to give good advice on things to do and places to eat and visit. We stayed seven nights and particularly enjoyed Foz Do Douro,Serralves ,Palacio de Cristal and a day trip by train to Guimaraes. We found the Hop on Hop bus services an excellent way to orientate yourself on arrival-we used the blue buses. All in all we cannot speak too highly of Porto Persona and would highly recommend it if you like somewhere with character ,brilliant service and facilities and a great location away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
