What was good
The view of Cusco
What was bad
Even though I presented my Hilton Honors Reward AmEx Card and the list of perks for Hilton Gold Level members, which included daily breakfast, the manager at check in insisted that since I had booked through Zen Hotels and not directly through Hilton, that breakfast was not included in my Deluxe Suite Room Rate! I asked him for courtesy breakfast vouchers and he insisted that they didn't have them, but he would check with Hilton Hotels and get back to me shortly. It was only 3 hours later and after multiple requests that he finally told me that "as a favor to me, (he) would give me breakfast for the 2 out of three days that I would actually be using my room, before and after my Machu Picchu expedition. The buffet breakfast was actually quite nice but the manager's attitude was not what I expect as a Hilton Hotels Gold Member. The room itself was very drab, and depressing. The view of Cusco, however, was magnificent, especially at night. The location, up a steep bill from the town's center, was unexpected and not convenient for me given my limited mobility. There are much more centrally located hotels in Cusco, at much better prices, and presumably with better reception desk attitude.
