20 reviewsWe spent 3 nights here during Easter break 2018. I give it a top score due to great location for cross country skiing, friendly staff, good meals, nice common areas and relaxed atmosphere. This was exactly what we were looking for when we booked this stay last minute. The rooms and bathrooms are very basic, but it was clean and the beds comfy. Actually nice not to have a TV in the room. The location is great for cross country skiing. Very good that they offer free rides up to Tormodset in the mornings: excellent skiing from Tormodset. For families with kids: the Tormodset kiosk (cafeteria with outdoor seating) is about one kilometer from the parking/drop off area. From the Tormodset kiosk it is approximately 3 km to Oppheimgardana and during Easter Break there was also an open kiosk (check opening hours) with outside seating there. Possible to do a loop back to Tormodset, or much longer loops. Beautiful. Also, great skiing to Nystolane, around Fetjastolmyrana and back to Liatoppen. Having an inside place to prepare and wax the skis was a nice bonus. Be aware that the room with cross country ski equipment is a mix of skis stored by guests and rental/borrow equipment. This led to some mix ups: One day a set of our poles were gone, the next day a set of our skis had been borrowed by guests who did not bring their own equipment. The same happened to other guests who also thought it was solely a room for storing equipment we had brought with us. Those in our group who wanted to go down hill skiing/snow boarding drove to Al one day, Geilo the next. Our group preferred Geilo. Our group also appreciated the inside activities like shuffle board and ping pong. Definitely a place we might return to.
