This is a charming B & B set in delightful gardens. Our room had stunning views of Mt Egmont.  The B&B is an easy 15 minute drive from New Plymouth.

The room was well appointed with a comfortable bed. 

An ample breakfast was served in the dining room each morning, by friendly and genuinely warm hosts.

This is an excellent choice and is well deserving of his high rating.

Wonderful stay in restful location with friendly hosts

John and Rosemary were Dairy farmers for more than 30 years on this property in new Plymouth but sold the farm and sub divided off 3 acres of a paddock. They then moved an 100 year old home onto it which they lovingly restored. This classical old home is now set into a fully grown magnificent garden. This is old charm hospitality at its best and the hosts ( of a certain age ) fit beautifully into the scenario. A blazing fire, a hearty breakfast, and a comfortable lounge make this an ideal place to stay. Do not miss it.

From Dairy Farmers to B&B hosts

Beautiful accommodation in a renovated removal house. Large rooms, park like gardens which were immaculately maintained by a beautiful couple who owned this magnificent home. Retired dairy farmers with Irish ancestry, lovely people. Couldn't have asked for anything more. The breakfast was amazing with a huge range of food. The dining area had spectacular views, as did the bedroom. Well stocked fridge, clean bathroom and all facilities were excellent.

Best B n B we've stayed in (New Zealand)

We are spending 5 weeks touring New Zealand. We have spent many nights in B and Bs and this was one of the best. The accommodation is in the lovely home of John and Rosemary who were wonderful hosts. They have 3 rooms to let. We had the smaller room, but this was spacious enough and very comfortable although, unlike the 2 larger rooms, did not have air conditioning (no major problem for us). Because Rosemary was recovering from surgery, John did all the cooking and put together a first class breakfast (10 out of 10 from me !!).
We loved their beautiful home, stunning gardens and views of Mount Taranaki. The view of the Milky Way was also amazing.
We were only a 20minute drive from New Plymouth centre and John was able to recommend some great restaurants for dinner.

Nos hemos alojado en este establecimiento dos noches y fue todo perfecto.
Los dueños cuidaron todos los detalles en todo momento y nos aconsejaron sobre la zona muy bien. 
La habitación era amplia, estaba limpia y ordenada.
El desayuno, exquisito. De los mejores. 
El precio era más que razonable, nada caro en mi opinión.
Sin duda es un lugar en el que parar y descansar y que recomendaría siempre.

We have stayed at this establishment two nights and everything was perfect.
The owners took care of all the details at all times and advised us about the area very well.
The room was spacious, clean and tidy.
The breakfast, exquisite. Of the best I've ever had. 
The price was reasonable, nothing expensive in my opinion.
It is definitely a place to stop and rest and I would always recommend. 

Perfecto - perfect

Though we are from America, I lived on the North Island as a child.  If you want to really understand what the North Island is about, you need to stay in this B&B.  It was all that I had told my husband about the wonders of New Zealand.  The home, the gardens and especially the hosts reflect the best of the island and I promise you will never forget you visit with Rosemary and John.  They are two of the most special people you will ever meet.  Their home is a classic and their gardens are beyond words.  We spent almost an hour just photographing their grounds.  And while they sent us to some spectacular parks and gardens in New Plymouth, their garden was the most personal and loved.  John and Rosemary both are very involved in making sure the guests are comfortable.  We had their hand-picket raspberries for breakfast along with their own eggs.  And John generously shared his time to help us understand more about the area, which he knows inside and out.  It was both an honor and privilege to have been guests in their home and we will never forget our stay with them.
