This is the second stay we have had at Jade Court in Hokitika. We stayed here two weeks ago and it was fantastic. We were four adults - one couple and two friends - and we stayed in a 2 bdrm family unit. The unit had been completely refurbished and the standard was superb. Price was also excellent.  This unit had everything you could need including a full kitchen so we could cook our own meal. Cleanliness AA+++. Motel owners/operators are super to deal with and very friendly.  We also stayed here as a couple, 4-5 years ago and were also very happy with the motel standards. So close to everything - beach. shops and restaurants. Highly recommend this motel for travelers.

Great Motel in Hokitika

Stayed for what definitely felt like too long, service was non-existant - didn't get any of the replacement towels, coffee sashes or even something too cook on. Was promised that because our room didn't have a stove we would be supplied with a small cooker but after more than a week and multiple requests nothing had been done, for towels or cooker - Wifi was promised but checked in a month later (long story boss booked us back in because of price) and hadn't been fixed so really though they promise internet nothing is available.Some units have what might pass for a "kitchen" if one frying pan, a sink, a lid from a pot (thats not there anymore?) and a potato masher with 2 blunt knives, a fork and a couple teaspoons count as a kitchen. Will be having strong words to my boss and have no intention of returning. Only good thing was the bed was large & comfortable. I expected a semblance of customer service even at the rate we paid. Nothing. Not a happy camper.  Will not be returning.
