Exceeded my expectations. 
A quiet location.
Both Fiona and Marcus are warm, helpful and go above and beyond to ensure you feel welcome.
Breakfast and airport transfers are a a bonus.
Would recommend.

Welcoming and homely

The room was self contained and immaculately decorated 
Fiona took us to drop of car rental at Apex which was just around the corner and also took us out to airport next morning without any hesitation 
Breakfast was plentiful

This is a spectacular place to stay with a Great hostess who picked me up from the airport.  Fiona provided a nice, hearty breakfast to start.  The place and room is super clean and is a beautiful Scandinavian style wood home.  I was traveling alone and was a bit nervous about the first day since I was so tired from the long flight and being new to the area.  Fiona picked me up and set me at ease--she is very hospitable.  Highly recommended to stay here.  Price is great.

First Night in New Zealand

This has been an amazing stay.  Beautiful property set on a back lot. Lovely bedroom with an ensuite. Looks over a gorgeous backyard.  Hosts are super nice and give great advice.  Good Continental breakfast with breads, yogurt, fruit,juice, and cereals.  We've really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely

Our flight was delayed and we booked last minute. What a pleasant surprise. The room was lovely with an en suite bathroom. Breakfast was lovely and at our leisure. Fiona was so accommodating and extremely helpful even taking us onward to our original destination. Would highly recommend. Thank you Fiona :)

Little Gem

Lovely place, very close to airport. It offers a free shuttle, on arrival and departure. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, all in wood. The landlady prepares an abundand breakfast and is very friendly with guests.

What a great place to stay

Fiona was amazing, putting up with 5 band members, sorting us out, welcoming us so graciously and evening driving us to our gig

The house is so cosy and relaxing- perfect place to chill and relax before and after a gig. The beds are heavenly and everything so lovely and clean

We felt looked after and Fiona went above and beyond for all of us. Breakfast was delicious too

Highly recommend staying here whatever the reason you are in Christchurch 

Music to our ears

Traveller's Retreat Bed and Breakfast is a family venture run by Fiona and Marcus who are amiable hosts with old-style NZ hospitality. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable and the Queen room has an en suite bathroom.  Tariff is moderate and represents value-for-money.

The B and B is located relatively close to Christchurch airport; Fiona will pick you up from there if needed. Fiona also kindly dropped us at the bus terminal in town for an early am departure to Queenstown.  Note: If you are without a car, you can take public transport to the CBD but it does require a change of bus so leave sufficient time.  

Overall, a pleasant stay and nice introduction to NZ.
