This is the second time now me and my friend have been to Epen Holland staying at hotel de kroon its a wonderful little quiet village and very friendly people we went to restaurant Eureka a fww times for the wonderful ice cream the best in the world you want find better ice cream any where made by the master chef guntar we also had a meal at the restaurant and I have to say again the meal was top quality the staf was very friendly and helpful allways there to help in anyway they can to make your stay a plesant one I would highly rate this hotel and restaurant as one of the best I have stayed in top marks through out we will most sertanly be going back to epen some time soon

I have visited practically all countries in Western Europe, and dined in numerous hotel Restaurants and this Restaurant ' Bij Giuseppe  situated at Hotel Eureka ' in Kapelaan Houbenstraat,  in Epen, South Limburg, Netherlands is probably the best ever I have dined at.
My friend and I stayed in Epen during Christmas 2014, and visited  Restaurant Bij Giuseppe on both Christmas Day and the following day, 25th and 26th of December.  We had a very warm friendly welcome by the hostess Minou and was shown to our table where we dined. We ordered our Christmas Day dinner and received an excellent waiting service. The meal was absolutely delicious tasting, and the dessert that followed was not only 'eye catching' but went down a treat. The ice cream was out of this world and probably the best I had ever tasted.  Minou and her staff at the restaurant were very pleasant, friendly and polite, and made us feel very welcome and relaxed.  We could not have wished for better.  The food we ordered was served hot and freshly cooked  and the quality of the meats and vegetables were superb and cooked by a professional first class chef, named Guntur, who despite being very busy, spared a moment or two to have a quick chat. You will not find this kind of welcome, service and friendliness in many hotels at whatever country you visit.  Bij Giuseppe was very full on both days that we visited which was another indication of it having a very good all around first class reputation.  The second day was equally as good as Christmas Day.  The visits on both occasions  left us feeling like royalty by the way were welcomed, treated , served and enjoyed such first class meals.  Epen is 425 miles away from our homeland where we live, a return journey of 850 miles which was very tiring when travelling by car.  However, the journey to Epen  and the Restaurant Bij Giuseppe at Hotel Eureka  was well worth it. We found that the local residents of Epen were very warm friendly and welcoming people, and were always very helpful towards us with their knowledge of South Limburg and of places to visit such as Maastricht, the home town of Andre Rieu  where he also performs at the famous Vrijthof Square, also Valkenberg where the famous Christmas markets are set in caves, both places situated in close reach of Epen.  Additionally, the German and Belgium borders are within just a few miles from Epen, and the borders can be crossed over  without any problem whatsoever.  Epen is a fantastic and peaceful  little village town which has many hotels and friendly welcoming proprietors.   We do not always return to the same holiday resort, but we loved Epen so much, and especially Bij Giuseppe at Hotel Eureka with its delicious dinners and desserts, that we will definitely without doubt return there very soon. 

It has also come to our attention that the Chef Guntur at Bij Giuseppe has created another of his special desserts.  I have only seen a photograph of it, and that alone made my mouth water, so that is going to be my first dessert I shall be choosing when I return to Bij Giuseppe, a first class restaurant in the heart of Epen.  We will be back soon.
