Great accommodation and very nice landlord. A beautiful garden that can also be used by guests. The apartment is of high quality and purposefully decorated and most importantly, it is very clean. The beach and the North Sea are walking distance away, plus a great dunescape.

For a good vacation

Super nice and clean accommodation. Very nice owners who give your guests good tips for excursions and restaurants. The beach and supermarket are within walking distance. There are plenty of parking spaces on the property and across the street. Nice area also for cycling.

It's a beautiful, clean place.

I start with the cons so I can finish it on the positive side:
The walls were extremely thin and the house was loud. 4 rooms in a tiny building, we could hear everything, literally every move of every people, kids running around, slamming doors, screaming, etc. from 8am. We could even hear someone sneezing from downstairs. That is certainly not something you want when you are on a holiday.

The bathroom was literally next to the head of the bed, only separated with an accordion door. So you went to the toilet 7 feet away from your partner with barely any decent separation. Oh yes and semi-transparent windows(!!) on the accordion door, to make sure the remaining privacy is gone.

The room could use some airing before receiving guests or in general. Smelt a bit, but wasnt too bad.

The wifi is very weak but mostly you can catch it.

When we left we paid 2 Euros more than what our booking price on booking.com was. I did not want to make a fuss about 2 Euros but I don`t like when someone changes the price in a business in the end just because they don`t know what they are doing. Could`ve been a bigger surprise, then I`d have complained about it, which could`ve led to an awkward situation. Not a good and professional practice.

The pros are that the service is decent, the owners are nice, we stayed 3 nights, it did the job, the bed was very nice, the bathroom was nice and clean, there was a lot of complimentary coffees and teas.

Altogether I'd say try and go to a decent hotel in the area instead. We wanted to try the authentic local feeling in a guesthouse since we always go to hotels, but this was more than enough for an experience. If it is your last chance, try it, but otherwise go to a hotel.

A few surprises

A great place to stay during a trip to the Netherlands. 1. It was a good, clean room. 2. The owners are very hospitable. Guests will be offered drinks as a gift when settling down. Also, discounted booklets will be given to local cafes, restaurants. I recommend getting acquainted with them, as I forgot to eat at the restaurant first, and then it turned out that there was a coupon for two drinks in the booklet.

The hosts are hospitable, a comfortable place.

I booked a room at Villa 't Haasduin for two nights in March 2017. It's certainly a place I'd return to. It's a five minute walk to the village so very handy if you're looking to socialise. Willemien and Ed are very friendly, and have lots of advice to offer on places to visit and how to get there.  (Thank you! I did visit the market in the end and had a lovely time.) A lovely spread is put on for breakfast, so you certainly won't go hungry. And the apartment I was given to stay in had the most comfortable bed. I had two great nights' sleep.

Comfortable, quiet and very enjoyable

The bathroom was very large and decorated in Chinese style. It was in a beautiful garden with a terrace. The breakfast was very good with fresh pancakes. The owners were very relaxed and friendly.

A pleasant stay in a nice place

My wife and I arrived from Lithuania, and the service and amenities were wonderful during our two week stay. There are different classes of rooms, and we inquired ahead about the one with a kitchen, which made life a lot easier on moderate food budget.

The property feels secluded, and is very quiet. The location is also ideal, with ample free parking on the street...something that is very rare in the Netherlands. It is a short distance (5 min walk) to the Spar grocery store, which keeps odd hours (3pm-6pm on Sunday), so plan ahead if you need something, or go into the town square to enjoy one of the many upmarket restaurants with a variety of quality fare.

Wil and Ed are wonderful hosts who are very knowledgable about the area, and multilingual in first world languages. Breakfast is very solid, and great value, but you need to book it before, especially during low season. This after all is a cozy bed and breakfast, not a hotel.

Wifi is free, fast enough for streaming Netflix in 1080p, and there is ethernet in some of the rooms if that is important to you. The room we had had a new tv and selection of cable channels, including BBC and Eurosport. A lot of Dutch programming is in English with subtitles, so if you speak first world like us, you will be able to stay on top of whatever reality shows America is putting out these days, and other goings on in the Netherlands.

Laundry service is available for a very reasonable fee. Inquiry before about turnaround time though. Again, this is an experience where the owners actually care about the customer, not a hotel trying to gouge for every necessity. My least favorite stress traveling is always doing laundry, and it was very nice that we were accommodated on site.

The bathrooms have showers with very strong pressure and hot water. It's a big plus, and the room we had included bath robes which is an even bigger plus. The bed in our room was soft with foam the way we like it, and we slept well every night. The room had ample storage, and we did not feel cramped even with two large bags filled. There was plenty of room to hang our clothes.

I would highly recommend staying here to anyone. It's really worth a trip over from Amsterdam to experience the beautiful history of the coast, and the walk *down* into town from sea level.

Very Cozy Stay in Historic Village

We just spent three days in this B&B. The owners are really friendly and open-minded. The place is very welcoming and well-kept. There's a garden full of flowers and plants where you can relax.

If you've come to Holland by car, you can stay in the small seaside town of Wijk-aan-Zee. We opened this private hotel for ourselves, where we were greeted with open minds:) Very hospitable hotel owners, a cozy room with everything you need. Not far from Beverwijk, a larger town with a large shopping street and a railway station. Amsterdam can be reached in half an hour.

On the sea

We just spent a 4 day weekend in the Netherlands. This was by far the best B&B we have ever stayed at. The owners, Willemien and Ed were very friendly (as were all the people in the area that we came into contact with) and a wealth of information, from places locally to eat, the best parking garage in Amsterdam to use. When we arrived our room was ready for us. They brought us drinks (beer, wine and sodas) in the garden and answered our many questions. The breakfast in the mornings was amazing as well. It is a bit outside the city, but it was so worth the drive. We traveled there with 7 adults and 4 kids, ages, 13,15, and two 18 year old boys. We never heard any of them complain that they wanted something to do. It is within a short walk to a very nice beach and family friendly restaurants. If we go back to the Amsterdam area, we will definitely stay there again.
