3 reviewsI have stayed at the Ajima Guest House, beautifully situated down an alley, steps away from Durbar Square, for a few weeks on two occasions. It is a small, family run business and as they live on the top floor, are always available if needed. As a solo traveler, I appreciated that they are friendly and helpful. Tasty, traditional Nepali home-style meals are available on request. These are served up-top on an open-air porch looking out over the neighbourhood - but I also had breakfast brought to my room on many occasions. It was good to know that their building, which you enter through the family’s clothing shop at street level, incurred no damage during the 2015 earthquake. The room I have had on both visits was simple but comfortable. The washroom/toilet, located in the hallway, is shared with one other room. Wifi is available. Important information: You should know to buy a “multiple entry pass” when you first enter the Bhaktapur UNESCO Heritage Site, the area in which the Ajima Guest House is located. Should you be staying for a few days or longer, having this allows you to freely go in and out and is in lieu of the usual one-time, short visit mandatory day pass.
