When I got there I had a shock, a cultural shock, clothes, spoken language, narrow street of the entrance of the Riad. loud speaker from the mosque, calling to prayer at 3:30 am-4:30am. However, we had the best experience these days.
Although I was given a twin room, which I had booked with a double bed, the Riad couple was very attentive, clean room with bath towels, hot water and air conditioning, reasonable breakfast, immaculate dinner and terrace .

Good relation between quality price

I booked my holiday thru teletext in Marrakesh. I  thought I booked a hotel. As soon me & my sister come out of taxi we were shocked . Taxi driver dropped us on the main door saying that ur hotel is in the street. We walked into dirty street with our big suitcase & hand luggage. Ask someone where is Riyad Yamsara. Here we r standing in front of small house called hotel . Lady with dirty overhaul greet us in French can’t speck one word of English . We waited half hour for her husband to arrive. Such a hot day ask for water no water. As soon husband arrive took us in our room. Another big shock room with old sheets , old torn towels , shelves covered with curtains called wardrobe. Toilet is nt working properly. No tv , old door can’t shut properly, no privacy. We didn’t feel safe so we rung our family. So my niece booked another hotel for us . We end up spending more money because we didn’t want to ruin our holidays. My point to everyone don’t look pics of this place it’s family home run by husband & wife no where near 3*.

We knew it was going to be basic but not this basic 

Upon arrival the owners were very friendly and welcoming but we were told that our room wasn't available until the following day so they put us in another riad 15mins away (we wish we could have stayed in the temporary riad, it was much better)

Once we returned back, our room had no hot water for the whole stay and breakfast was very poor. They didn't even have bottled water.
Between 3:30am-4:30am you are woken up every morning to a loud speaker from the mosque, calling to prayer.

Disappointing Accommodation

I know and was expecting a basic hotel. But unfortunately it was worse than that, we booked 3 single rooms in January this year , two of those rooms had no heating and we were freezing cold which stoped us from going to sleep.
The breakfast was not until 9:30 in the morning when the maid come. This was difficult as we had to go out early on city tours.
Adding to that there was some building work going on the outside wall which meant that we had to walk through rubble and under scaffolding.

Bad accommodation

Small hotel built on three floors with rooftop terrace and open courtyard with tiled fountain.  Storks nesting on mosque just feet away.  Breakfast included omelette most days with a large roll locally baked and typical of the area.  We were the only guests having an evening meal which was served on a coffee table.  The food was authentic Moroccan tagine most evenings served with bread, salad and baked vegetables and full of local flavours.  

The heaters in our room did not work and in January, the evening temperature fell to 8C or below.  The restaurant area was not heated so we ate in our fleeces and coats both morning and evening.  Our bedroom was freezing cold.  

The room was otherwise comfortable and quite large as we had paid for twin plus but only one bed was ever made up so one of us just had blankets.  The pillows and mattress were badly stained where protectors has not been used.  

An item of jewellery went missing from a drawer in the room the day before we were to leave. The manager was informed but it was never found.

Authentic Marrakesh accomodation

Moktar and Iman are the most welcoming hosts you can imagine. They made us feel at home from the minute we stepped in(Nancy had a bad migraine and Iman treated here with natural medicines and a massage that worked wonders). The riad is nice, we occupied  the same room twice, loved it! Nice attached bathroom. We loved the location on a back alley close to the souk, made us feel close to the locals. All neighbours were friendly and open, we never felt unsafe here and left our motorcycles there unattended without problems. The courtyard is very nice for breakfast, the upper terrasse awesome to chill out.

2 single nights stay a week apart.

Staying at the riad yamsara is ok the family are nice but if you can’t speak French or German then your buggered plus it’s down a alley way what makes you feel insecure from day 1 I got scammed by a local who wanted paying for directions which is absurd the whole experience has left me shaking only positive thing is the tours where you meet other friendly travellers,don’t come to Morocco by yourself it’s better to come with someone so you have back up when you get into difficult situations and not get harassed,the country has nice historical architecture to them but the locals are just scam artists plus the taxis are a complete con

Terrible place for a guesthouse even tho it’s near landmarks

Mochtar and his wife Iman were the perfect hosts! Very polite, very friendly, and very helpful! Our stay was just perfect, we were made to feel like it was our home. Rooms were beautifully finished, and the roof terrace was just perfect for soaking up some of the sun in the afternoons. Be prepared for the winter here though! The courtyard of the house is very cold in the mornings!
