Worst experience ever in a hostel. I felt very unsafe during the whole night and I was able to sleep only for a few hours. The guy responsible at night smelled like alcohol very strongly. He knocked on my door several times at night saying that there was a call for me. After a while, I picked up the call and I was threatened by some Mexican guys. They said they would come for me.  I had an awful night. Moreover there isn't any kind of atmosphere or vibe. We were only two guests at the hostel. Don't stay here!

Don't stay here

This was my second stay in Casa Taxco.  I stayed here for a week back in January 2019 and I was in Taxco in January 2020 and I knew exactly where to stay.  Upon entering, the young lady at reception was so welcoming and helpful.  The house is beautiful, spacious, and feels like home.  The dorm I was in had only two beds and I was fortunate enough to have the entire room for my five-night stay.  The kitchen is fully-equipped, and there are two dining tables.  There were some other travellers and we sat down and had dinner together and chatted for a few hours, which is somewhat rare these days.  You have to ask the staff to turn on the hot water tank for a hot shower, and the showers are nice and steaming hot!  Location is perfect (however Taxco is not very big).  The place is very clean and comfortable.  There is a rooftop terrace with an amazing view, but you can also get a nice view from the kitchen window and if you get dorm one.  It is not a party hostel so I could get some really good quality sleep.  I had an amazing and relaxing stay back in 2019, but this time it was better because of the friendly receptionist and her huge smile and hospitality.  Muchas gracias!  I hope to be back next year!  P.S. My only suggestion is to PLEASE, please put some HOOKS in the dorms and bathrooms as there is nowhere to hang your clothes!

Wonderful, friendly receptionist and beautiful house.

When you arrive to this Hostel you will feel like your at home, the home is out of this world, when you are shown to your room the first thing you see is stylish bed woodwork around your bed. 

Taxco is very hilly so you need good footware, Taxes are cheap to get around, the town sq is a place to visit lots of things going on AND the Church is to be seen.

Home comfert Hostal

hostel casa taxco was very nice i was the only one there most of the time which i didnt mind there was limited info unless you spoke spanish. i found the owners wife pretty miserable she was hard work but the guy was alright but he was rarely there the place was scrupulously clean every thing being cleaned everyday it was just a hotel really. Taxco itself is crazy with traffic and it got too much for me in the end its very quiet in the week with every thing closing at 9pm so this ones not for night owls unless your there on weekend when its mobbed by tourists.

Clean, location phenomenal, cost effective, comfortable, helpful, and I would return here in a heart beat! Described accurately on air b n b and pictures are accurate. Great for budget conscious couple who also want quality! Shared bathroom but I never crossed paths with anyone using the bathroom. Views are great! Maura was helpful with recommendations. 

Among the nicest hostels world wide

There were few hotel options for the 7 nights we had in Taxco. So glad Casa Taxco was an option. Close to the zocalo, clean and great staff. If you can get over sharing a bathroom, then the rest is easy! Is this a 5 star hotel? No. This gets a 5 star rating for its class of service. Nice to meet Victor, the owner who has a great silver jewelry store below the hostel. Looking forward to a return pronto!

Great Find!

Excellent location, the top roof can be used and offers a fantastic view. 

The hostel is furnished with good taste and makes you feel at home straight away. 

The owners and the personnel are very nice and friendly, ready to help with anything. 

Very good laundry service. 

I definitely recommend to stay here and I will return.

Excellent staying and value

Good points :
1. Well designed and decorated hostel.
2. Excellent location : few steps from the zocalo; close to the bus station ; a local market is near by. 
3. Clean and spacious. 
4. I booked a dorm room but they offered me a single room. 
5. The rooftop is very nice. 
6. Staff doesn't speak English but helpful
7. They provide shampoo and soup for u.
8. The only cheap hostel in taxco.

Bad points :
1. The room is so dark.
2. Breakfast is not included.
3. Staff don't speak English. 

Tips: if you want a dorm room, book it through their official website. There is no dorm room option in booking.com.
