We stumbled across this hotel while walking along the beach and liked its pool and grounds and checked in the next night (after a nightmare experience at another hotel at the opposite end of the beach).

The grounds are visually attractive and well maintained with double swimming pools in the centre. The hotel reception did not speak English but two of the groundskeepers did. Alberto was a kind man who spoke English  and helped us a lot as did Viktor? (not sure of his name).

Rincon de Guayabitos is very Mexican and not many people speak English.
There were many Mexican families enjoying themselves along the long beach. It is so nice to see how Mexican families gather together and enjoy the kids and relatives! The hotel was hosting Mexican families and we appeared to be the only Canadians at this time of the year  which is the off season for tourists.October in this part of Mexico is very hot, humid and uncomfortable; also many restaurants are closed.

Our room overlooked the pools and the beach and had a balcony with chairs. There are family suites available.

I would rated this hotel a 4 but the beds were hard and not comfy at all. The room had a TV with one English station - CNN- which either Alberto or Viktor
helped us to get a clear tv signal. This was great because we could get news about the middle east conflict that is going on.

The room had a mini fridge for our drinks which we appreciated very much. There is purified water in the hall to use in filing water bottles which was also appreciated.  There was decent wi-fi and air conditioning.
 
The restaurant in the hotel is open for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.
The shrimp dishes were very good! Shrimp was our go to meal here.

The hotel is in town but on the beach side. An OXXO store is very nearby but we found the prices to be expensive. Many tacos stands are nearby.



Nicely maintained hotel

We just got home from 9 days here. It was fantastic and incredibly relaxing. We were part of a large tour group that came over by bus, probably 40-50 in the group that comes every January. 
   This is not a fancy or luxurious place. It’s not a 5 star resort. It’s a small, basic, comfortable, safe hotel. It’s smack in the middle of the best beach, in the coolest little town. Our room had a new mini fridge. Apparently every room has one now. That was convenient, and Oxxo is across the street for buying drinks and snacks, and a larger grocery one block up on the main drag. We thought the hotel restaurant was great. We enjoyed all our meals there, plus the daily specials. Happy hour from 4-6pm was fantastic. Big, good 2 for 1 drinks. Nice staff would even bring our lunch to our beach and pool palapa. Pool was pretty cold (January) so we never used it, but it’s beautiful and every room opens to the pool and courtyard, so never far to walk. We will be back next year! Thanks for being our home away from home!

Relaxation and fun

I love that was right at the beach; but customer service was not great.  Also, the pool was very small and was not friendly for older people.

Customer service staff wasn’t the greatest, TV did not work, water in shower stopped while showering and water in shower was cold.

I liked the hotel's location on the beach and the bar/restaurant was serviceable. rooms were ok, but at almost $100US/night it was too pricey for what you got. you could use hotels' beach umbrellas and chairs on the beach.

nice hotel

We have been coming to this hotel off and on for many years.  Unfortunately our last visit in early December for eight days was not quite as enjoyable as previous visits.  We had hot water for showers only one day out of eight.  We inquired about this but they did not really care to do anything about it.  The grounds are beautiful with nice balconies facing the ocean however the buildings are beginning to show their age.  Our railing was quite unstable and the pool pump had a continuous noisy humming sound 24 hours a day.  I fully agree with previous posts regarding the plastic mattress covers.  I am giving it four stars because of the location, cleanliness and price.

Location, location, location

We stayed for 5 nights and had a wonderful time! This is a smallish older, rustic hotel. It's nothing luxurious but we enjoyed it so much! We had a room with 2 double beds over the lobby. Small kitchenette was very handy for drinks and snacks. Beds were very firm. The balcony had a great view of the pools and the beach! There were plenty of chairs, umbrellas, and loungers for everyone. The restaurant was also surprisingly good and very cheap. We ate breakfast there twice and lunch twice, once they even brought our order down to our beach palapa for us. I would definitely stay again! It was a great central location on the beach and for walking in town! The front desk staff wasn't super friendly, but the groundskeeper and the maintenance guys were so helpful and friendly! We were the only Americans the entire time we were there and it was perfectly comfortable and the language barrier wasn't a problem! My only complaint would be that a family in the room next to us (there was a flimsy locked connecting door) was very loud and had the television on every morning and late into the night. We could hear everything they were saying, so we whispered a lot in our room.

Such a relaxing place 

Wonderful location with room looking out over pool and beach. Receptionist unfriendly almost to the point of being rude - as we are "gringos" think she thought we were American - but so what if we were! Breakfast once in restaurant - first impression - yuck - only ones in there and lots of uncleared tables - food ordinary! Fault of management - not staff when understaffed. Later wanted to charge me 10 pesos for polystyrene cup for ice - "Really". Hotel very very clean - but not 4 star and well overpriced. Worst though was the mattress protector on beds are placed upside down - plastic straight under sheet - slippery and sweaty! Management needs to try sleeping on that. Disgusting! Some of the other staff were lovely "Alberto" - thanks! Sort the bedding, the sour receptionist and our stay would have been greatly enhanced! Sonya and Gary - New Zealand

Location absolutely brilliant - But!!!

Very clean hotel,very accommodating staff for your every need..will surely be back next year with our dog...lovely place n close to all amenities...flea market on Thursday...very cheap compared to Puerto Vallarta...
