Stayed over Christmas, the staff was very friendly and rooms were clean. they come through every day to clean and tidy up. Most suites have kitchenettes and the hotel has some cooking items to offer. Many long stay gringos use the hotel for several months, they were friendly and inviting, as well as helpful. About 100 pesos to the big supermarkets for food and supplies, plenty of good restaurants nearby. Although it is technically in the Golden Zone, it is the farthest end of it.

Very Clean Hotel across the street from the beach

Couldn't be happier here!

I was looking for a place to stay long term here in Mazatlan, Mexico.  I knew I wanted something in the Hotel Zone and near the beach and I've found the perfect spot.

Miguelina and Ernesto could not have been nicer checking me and made me feel welcome.

I really like the one bedroom in the back of the complex they put me in.  There's a pool and patio area for relaxing.  The property is right across the street from beach with lots of bars and restaurants  nearby - plus because the unit is in the back away from  the street so it's quieter.

The bungalow itself is a nice mix of modern design with some traditional Mexican touches that are very cool. 

The Mar Sol Bungalows are located on the north end of the Zona Dorada so you will need to take the green bus into town or have transportation if you want to get to the city center -- but really there's plenty of options for entertainment nearby so that's not an issue.

For the area (Zona Dorada, beach) it's  a  good value I think.  There are cheaper accomodations available but they are further away, inland or not as nice -- when I looked around this was the best deal I've found.

Terrific Place!

I first stayed at Bungalows Mar Sol in  October 2009 when helping some friends with their yacht in the Marina Mazatlan. The friends have since sailed on, but I have returned each year usually for one month, and always stay in this place. Miguelina is the owner, and lives on site. Exceptionally clean, very quiet, and with a band of regulars who have made this Aussie feel very welcome. Circumstance will preclude a visit this year, however 2017 is looking good. Highly recommended for couples, or a single such as myself. There are some great walks, beaches, and dozens of restaurants nearby.

A piece of paradise

We've now stayed in four hotels in Mazatlan. Each time trying to find a decent, clean reasonably priced "budget" hotel. We finally found it on our fourth try at "Bungalows Mar Sol". EXCEPTIONALLY clean (and new), nicely appointed motel-style rooms at the north end of the Gold zone (one block from the beach). Nice kitchenettes (although we agree, it would be nice if they were stocked with dishes etc), good WiFi, and good TV. Miquelina, the owner, runs a tight ship, so no noise (except some traffic) but attentive service. NOT a luxury or "party" hotel with pools or other amenities, the Bungalows Mar Sol nevertheless offer a simple, clean motel with honest prices run by honest people. Most highly recommended.

We agree, truly a refreshing oasis along Mazatlan's Gold (Hotel) Zone

A clean, well appointed kitchen (full size refrigerator), attentive staff, and extraordinary value - located across the street from the beach. Away from the pounding noise and music further down the road. I am a female traveling alone on a road trip through Mexico and found this place a heavenly stay for one week. My car was parked safely outside the door of my apartment. 

An oasis of sensibility in the hotel glitz of Mazatlan 

The title says it all, for 440 pesos a night for two one gets a comfortable clean room across the street from the larger beachfront hotels.   Excellent free Wi-Fi, one or two english TV stations, easy access to restaurants and the beach.   Nothing to write home about, more like a motel than a hotel, but quite reasonable.   One shortcoming is that the kitchenette has no equipment - pots, pans, plates, cups, cutlery - just two drinking glasses provided.   Quite a bit of street noise so ear plugs may be required for the light sleeper...
