We arrived and asked about the cafeteria/restaurant , the young lady on the front desk, had the one of the worst attitudes towards customer I have experience in my life. Later I asked about the entrance to the convent and she seem to be irritated been asked questions.
The food was not anything special and from the other world.
Her attitude totally turns off to book a room for one night and decide continuing to Merida.Besides this sour experience, we were totally disappointed with all the stands on the main square. It made the town to look dirty taking away the charming I experienced some years ago and all the pictures from books and marketing.  The city and state governments must take action to remove those stands that look more like garbage collectors than selling stands.

Izamal dissapointment

Fantastic stay, peaceful & tranquil, in a great location across from a main park (around the corner from the bus station). Izamal, the yellow city, is the perfect backdrop for this gorgeous little hotel! Safe, clean, and comfortable, with an amazing decor & history. Breakfast is included in the cutest little courtyard. Staff was friendly & welcoming. This really is the most amazing city, far off the beaten track & calm & peaceful. We would totally return here if we found ourselves in this area of the Yucatan!

Superb setting in a superb location!

A beautiful and unique hotel in the heart of Izamal with views on the Convent. Relaxed seating for breakfast (included). We had a very agreeable stay. Ieverything within waling distance. Recommended. Friendly and helpful staff.

Great, helpful service

Very beautiful hotel and garden, clean and quiet rooms and nice staff in the very heart of the town (we even had a view at the convento!) Breakfast was very basic, but we knew that by forehand and it was still ok. It would be nice if the staff knew some basic English, so you could ask some questions.

Mooie plaats om te verblijven in Izamal!

Beautiful spot, really well located. Nice and clean rooms, meh service from staff. Coffee, bread and juice included, food from restaurant not bad at all. Cute little terrace on the open with a nice view to the main temple.

Really nice!

Lovely colonial building with a very pretty backyard. Although it is located right in the center of the city, it was quiet and we slept well. No mosquito in sight. The staff was smiling and helpful. The shop attached to the hotel is perfect for souvenirs, nice selection and a lot of choice.The only little "down" was that we had to wait forever for breakfast, the man taking care of it didn't seem to quite manage alone, although only two tables were occupied at that time.

Charming and restful

I recently spent two nights at this charming hotel. It's located in a colonial building right on one of Izamal's two central plazas, a stone's throw away from the bus station.

The room was on the ground floor. It would have been nicer to be upstairs but I was told these were full. The courtyard and area out back were pleasant places to sit.

A simple breakfast is included in the price of the room. They also have a menu with more ample options.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Pleasant stay. Great location.

We stayed in a spacious room with a great view of Centro Izamal from our balcony, and we loved the location. Pretty much a stones throw from the Convento de San Antonio, and so many shops and restaurants. In fact, my wife's and my favorite little shop Hecho a Mano is attached to the hotel.

A nice low-key hotel!

The hotel and garden are very lovely! Such a nice atmosphere. Our room was fine. The bed was not very comfortable, the bathroom simple (Mexico standard I guess). The staff doesn't speak English, but that was not a problem for us. The breakfast is simple.
