InterContinental Malta by IHG

This was our third visit to InterContinental Malta always great to be back in this hotel, it feels a real home away from home. Good welcome on arrival, status was recognised and taken to the club lounge for a priority check in with champagne. Service was friendly and efficient. Our room located on a high floor a King classic with club lounge access was large and though the decor is starting to feel a bit dated and tired everything was clean and comfortable. Small balcony with a nice garden view. The bed and pillows were super comfy. Room amenities included bathrobes and slippers, tea and coffee making facilities also a coffee machine, hairdryer, complimentary water replenished daily. A slight niggle was the mini bar refrigerator was not cold enough to properly chill our drinks, suggest replacing the old fashioned mini bars with fridges. The bathroom featured a great walk in shower with a range of beautiful Byredo bathroom products. The housekeeping staff were excellent, friendly and did a great job. We enjoyed lounge access and this is certainly worth choosing, the Club InterContinental lounge is spacious, a peaceful retreat, has a lovely outside balcony area. The lounge offered all day access for coffee, tea, soft drinks, and included breakfast, afternoon tea and pre-dinner drinks. The service in the Club lounge is always outstanding, all staff were welcoming, attentive and happy to assist and it was great to see some familiar faces, welcome us back. Breakfast could not be faulted omelettes cooked perfectly and coffee at breakfast was also very good indeed. The facilities were great with good eating options, lovely outdoor pool with a large pool area with plenty of sun-beds, indoor pool, gym, hairdressers, spa, and a stunning beach club. We enjoyed spending time around the pool and at the beach. Pool is really relaxing and not crowded the poolside environment has a calm and leisurely atmosphere liked listening to the music from a local radio station. InterContinental Malta is in prime location to explore everything this beautiful Maltese Islands has to offer, and is a perfect place to stay in St Julian's a short walk to many shops, bars and restaurants. We are looking forward to visiting the hotel again.
