Puteri Bayu Beach Resort

Pangkor Island

We booked our room on Agoda and got a good deal on room and breakfast but after we checked in we realised that the resort had chalets on the other side of their premises. We couldn't access the resort's website before making the reservations. Since we had paid we opted for the room in the block. The room was moderately sized, clean but the doors under the sink have wears at the edges. Bathroom ceiling had seen its days and the leak in a corner next to a louvered glass window was poorly patched and it looked shabby. The plastic collapsible door was so dated and terribly noisy when one of us had to use the bathroom in the wee hours of the morning! Breakfast servings were inconsistent and it all based on occupancy. When the occupancy is really low we were served better food cos we had a choice to order American Breakfast which the management had termed it incorrectly. What they served was actually Continental .... eggs of your choice, sweet beans from a can and weenies! But one could still help oneself to cut fruits, bread with spread, coffee and tea from a counter. If one chose a local breakfast, a choice of fried noodles or soup noodle was displayed but the latter never existed. So when they had more guests in house they put out fried noodle, rice porridge with condiments, DIY soup noodle, cut fruits and the regular bread spread. One had to know what one would be served the next morning and had to be prepared to come early so as not to miss out on breakfast at the buffet.  Besides these poorly planned breakfasts and the maintenance of the rooms in the block and lacking of poolside chairs, the beach and pool were a comfort. The Great Hornbill and his companions the Oriental Pied Hornbills who were tolerant of human beings and seeing the birds coming so close to us was a wonderful unforgetable expereince!

Beautiful Resort but rooms in the block require reactive and preventive management!

Exeleent place for vacation, suited with the price offered. Breakfast provided, at average level...stones throw away to the beach...customer service as usual not so excellence..overall satisfied as the beach environment and walking distance to eatery place and duty free shop.

Trip to puteri bayu

Stayed 2 nights in a chalet which was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Meals were simple and tasty. The beachfront was clean. Taxi from the jetty to the hotel cost ten ringgit.

Comfortable Stay

You get what you paid.

I booked and stayed at Bayu Villa with the beach view for 3 nights.

At first I personally didn't put a very high expectation on this resort because of the rate was relatively cheap.  But to my surprise I found my stay was pleasant and satisfying. 

The Bayu Villa was spacious and the bed was comfy. However they need to refurbish the room interior and put an extra afford to ensure the cleanliness of the room before letting the guest check in.

From my personal point of view, this resort is for a lower or middle class guest and if you're a type of so called classy guest and expecting a perfect getaway, please do not book this resort. But if you're a simple type and just wanted to enjoy the pool and the beach, I am highly recommended this resort.

I spent my final 2 night having a dinner at their coffeehouse and I was really enjoying my meals eventhough it was very limited choices from the ala-carte menu.

Here are my comments on things to improve

1- Please enhance the pool cleanliness, there were a lot of beach sand inside the pool. Maybe because there are no restrictions or regulation of swimming attire by guest.

2- Please improve the Wifi signal quality especially for Bayu Villa area. 

3- Improve on the breakfast choices and menu. 

Overall, for the price that I paid, I am satisfied. 

Surprisingly Satisfying

I went there with my family for 3 days 2 nights and we were quite disappointed with the room. The room was quite small for a twin bed, and everything looks worn out, especially the furniture... Our room's refrigerator looked old and not functioning properly.. Needs to have some renovation for the whole hotel. The good side of this hotel is the sea-side view. 

Breakfast - pretty much basic. But I still enjoy them.

The resort is next to the beach.
We stay for 3 days 2 nights at the chalet.
The room is spacious to accomodate 3 of us.
I like the chalet design - a tradisional Malay house with balcony. 
The chalet & it’s surroundings are clean and well maintain.
There is a swimming pool facing the sea.
So you have an option either having fun at the pool or the beach.

On our second day, while my daughter & i strolling the beach watching sunset, we were caught by suprised to see 3 otters swimming nearby us! What a lucky day for us to watch wildlife activity! I was told it is very rare to see or spoted the otter at the area.

Dinner is not a big problem since there are a few cafe nearby the resort with just a walking distance. Nipah beach / Teluk Nipah, one of the popular tourist destination is about 3km from the resort.

I may come again to this resort in future.


Pleasant stay

If you in short vacation this is the place which you can fulfill your family desire. Some love pool n others want seaside. Not to worry because Puteri Bayu beach resort have these 2 excitement. 
Resort n hotel just 2 minutes to Pasir Bogak Beach. You can have boat trip for snorkeling n island hoping as low as rm20 perpax. Banana  boat n jet ski also there.
At the resort pool for kids n adult ready for pool lover.
If you want to taste local food , nearby the resort within 5 minutes walking you can have delicious local n western food with affordable price. 
Room n chalet amenities are good n clean.
Overall my family members claimed they enjoyed their time even it was short vacation

Beach vs pool

Overall,the environment is okay.But feel disappointed because some area were unmanageable and quite dirty mostly the pool,the toilet and beach.Housekeeping were poor and they need to change or upgrade their room facilities.My suggestions,they need to clean up their abandon futsal court,clean up swimming pool area and toilet,replace or upgrade room facilities,train all the staff be more friendlier and more welcoming attitude and housekeeping must be more discipline.

Need to improve!!

Poor maintenance,tv and air conditioner not working. Poor management, superior talked to hotel staff in a harsh way. Hotel guess is not allowed to borrow spoon from hotel. Spoiled holiday mood, opt for other hotels instead of this hotel.

Horrible Experience

Had a one day trip to pangkor on the day of world cup finals. But alas my stay was a mess bcos of poor hotel.
Firstly hot water shower not functioning,had to get help. Then the phone in the room not functioning. Next the tv reception was out. There goes my world cup. The wifi simply miserable. I wonder how can these kind of hotels be allowed to operate in a tourist destination. Not recommended.
