I recently stayed at this hostel and it was a good experience. It was a little strange that there were very few people staying whilst I was there, but it was the beginning of rainy season. 

The hostel was clean and tidy, located in a district surrounded by other hostels and guesthouses. The Rooftop of the name was not much to write home about, consisting of a view of Melaka's huge H+M outlet. As a Brit I don't particularly need to see that! 

The staff were helpful with recommendations in the local area and making me feel welcome. Melaka has so much history to explore, particularly from the colonial period. 

The hostel is a reasonable walking distance to the main tourist areas along with the museums. Getting to and from the bus station does require a taxi or tuk tuk as it is a fair distance away. 

Overall a good stay and would recommend.

A good stay in Melaka

the staff are very friendly and kind. they are also very flexible, and give you some travel tips around melaka. we enjoyed our stay because they really helped us a lot. the kitchen has everything one needs.

I had a dorm bed here for 3 nights. The mattresses and the facilities needs a bit sprucing up and is showing it's age.  The location is quiet and the staff was friendly. They have a small kitchen where you can put things in a fridge and get water.  A comfortable stay in a nice location by the river.

Quiet place

We got double bed room with private bathroom, wardrobe & hairdryer. The room is clean, can view the garden at the balcony. The size of the room is just nice. Also provided some basic facilities such as fridge, bread toaster & water dispenser. Coffee and tea are free. Location is very conveniene, just around the jonker street. Really value for money. The staff is friendly too. We forgot to inform the shower was not working but overall we had a good stay.

Value for money

I had a great stay here in early 2017. Good position within Melaka to see the sights by foot. Lovely rooftop shower and the room I had (mixed shared) was clean and comfortable with good sized lockers and ample power sockets.
