Kiribati has few options this is the best you will find tourist frequent travelers , big organizations staff 
Air conditioner is good 
The transfer is included and  it is like 35 min drive 
For kiribati is good , it is like Marshall Islands accommodations are normal 
Humble and clean 
They have a rat with good price . I also tried one 2 minutes walk from there 
The buses will go upon the front for 1 Australian dollar can go most places 


I stayed in FEMA lodge for a week and enjoyed it very much. My room (in the new wing) was large and cool with air condition, there was a patio, the bed was comfortable. All is  very clean. Staff was very helpful. They assisted me in hiring a guide in Tarawa, and even organize a trip to another atoll, Aranuka. The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of South Tarawa, and public transportation (minivan) comes often and easy to use. The restaurant serves good food, and across the street is another restaurant, Koakoa, also with good food and beautiful sunset views.

Accommodation is limited in Tarawa. We looked at all the main choices and were happy with our four night stay at Fema Lodge. it is well located in the middle of South Tarawa. Ask for a second floor room for a nice aspect. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff are very nice. They put us in touch with a local tour guide named Molly (mollybrown413@gmail.com) and we did two day trips with her -one of South Tarawa, and one of North Tarawa, accessed by boat.

Fema is a pleasant hotel with a newer extension where we stayed. Although there was a steep set of stairs to our room, it was quite modern, with ensuite and a balcony. Hotel is on the main road but fairly quite. The small restaurant has good meals and cold drinks, including a reasonable selection of alcohol. Free airport pick up and drop off as well as regular local mini-vans out the front. A few shops, stalls and a little lagoon side restaurant opposite. Friendly, helpful staff with good communication skills. Book via direct via website.

Definitely the best choice in South Tarawa of the few options available.  Transport to/from the airport includes which is pretty critical given the time many flights arrive and leave.

Basic but clean rooms, with the new block at the back having its own power supply which is useful given island power cuts.

On site restaurant doesn’t always have everything on the menu but is not bad.  There is a small restaurant down the street (turn left from hotel, 100m on lagoon side) if you want variety.  A couple of reasonable small shops nearby too.

WiFi is available, charged for and reasonable quality.

Minibuses to any destination on the island only cost 80c but frankly there is not much to see beyond soaking up the island atmosphere (a little tough).

Unexpected, we have a great time with lovely, friendly staffs at Fema Lodge!! Our room is clean with reasonable price. They also serve you yummy food which we really recommend Blackend spicy tuna!! We  really love this place!!!! 

Have stayed a FEMA twice now.  It’s in a good location.  Rooms are clean and tidy with aircon!  Staff are very helpful and take excellent care of you while staying. 
Always able to find something to eat either at fema or across the road at kokas ( not sure of spelling) you can find some excellent dishes.  
You can purchase wifi although it can be temperamental- which is to be expected.

I stayed at the far end of property - the room is quite dated i.e. fixtures, desk, drawers and bathroom fittings are quite old. No room to hang your clothes - theres only a section in the corner of your room (next to bathroom) that has some hooks with an odd assortment of hangers for you to hang clothing on. 
Hot water worked well hovever most of the showerhead was blocked / not streaming water properly.
What is going for them however is their cleanliness - bed linen, pillows and even bath towels were immaculate, fresh smelling and the room was quite clean. Staff are quite friendly. I was given a free wifi voucher hoewver wifi seems to cut in and out necessitating a re-log in frequently.
They offer rental vehicles for hire however even this seems pricey - I was quoted 130AUD (before tax) per day for a mid size SUV. There is a "parking area" across the road from the hotel.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be ordered at their in house restaurant, all at a price.

Basic amenities but clean

Stayed four nights. This property is not on any booking platforms (like all accommodations in Kiribati), so I booked via email. They didn't require a pre-payment. I had a standard deluxe room with balcony on the upper floor. The room was clean but basic and dated, with very high ceiling and dim lighting. Amenities included mini-fridge and electric kettle. Comfortable bed and pillows. Sufficient number of power sockets, although some are inconveniently placed. Dated bathroom, shower with good water pressure and hot water. 
Wifi was very slow and frequently disconnected. It required login every single time.
There is a restaurant on site, which tries to accommodate the guests' requests.
On the negative side:
- The room rate includes airport pick-up and dropoff. However, even though I reconfirmed arrival time the day before and they acknowledged it, they still failed to show up at the airport. I was left stranded as there are no taxis, no wifi and I had no phone reception. Eventually someone tried to help me out, but none of the phone numbers listed on the reservation worked.
- They charge an exorbitant 5.5% surcharge for credit card payments
-  During my stay there were two power outages, which also resulted in interruption of the water supply to my room. Apparently the property has a backup generator, but they don't turn it on.

Clean but basic. Failed to pick me up at the airport.

We stayed at Fema Lodge twice. Booking was not straightforward. The bottom rooms are very basic . We had to ask for towels. There was a bed, fridge and bathroom. Upstairs the rooms  are larger with a balcony. Basic but pleasant. Power sometimes got cut off in the evening. The restaurant was hardly open. If you wanted to eat you had to let them know in advance. There are little shops close by where you can buy the basics. You need to buy water to drink. You can park across the road for free. They had a little bus that went to the airport. The staff are friendly.
