A nice comfortable 2-day stay. Clean place, wonderful staff and proprietors. Our room was large and clean, in the back corner and had 2 large windows. A very cozy view! At night they turned down our beds and closed the curtains - a nice touch! We ate dinner outside on the lawn - it was a lovely buffet. They have a pool that looked like a lazy river! But we only got cocktails from the bar and sat by the pool. It was too chilly for us! Other ppl did use the pool, and they were playing good music in the background while we were there. There were several stray cats around and it was fun to observe them running around the property.

Pretty grounds, good bar and nice people.

The staff were lovely and the rooms clean and tidy. The pool area was lovely and well kept. The food was not the best purely down to lack of options but what was cooked was very nice. 

The location to lake Nakuru national park was very good (around 5/10 minutes) and away from the city which was nice.

Good value for money

We were delighted with our stay at the matfam hotel. The management is attentive, and the staff adorable and take great care to make our stay pleasant. The rooms are simple and comfortable with a hotel service. The swimming pool, the bar, the restaurant, everything is perfect and ideal for spending a few days of relaxation in peace and green. Also at the top for the organization of a day at Nakuru Park, and transfer to Nairobi. If you pass by...don't hesitate! This is an address to remember!

Excellent!

Horrible place, shower had been pulled out of the wall and when shown to the receptionist shrugged and walked off for 20 mins. This was quite late and we were eventually placed in the VIP suite......Ha! single fluorescent light and needed factor 50 sunscreen with no air conditioning.
Food (oxymoron for the day) was disgusting , dried chicken bones a bowl of soup and a stale bread roll. 
Plenty of complaints and the hotel manager came to talk and said that the hotel was expanding to be a 200 room conference base. (FFS)...sorry about that but get your basics right first. Didn't even bother with breakfast next morning just happy to see the back of the place. Oh, the shower was cold in the VIP suite too.
Yet the previous nights under canvas there had been good food, hot showers and flushing toilets.oh and as for a bar, if a warm beer is wanted, fine. Wine and spirits one had to purchase a bottle.......needless to say we didn't. 
This hotel owner just has not got a clue. 
If it can be managed in an eco camp on the Massai Mara, then it shouldn't be beyond the bounds of possibility to succeed in some small way in a 'modern' hotel.

GRIM.....Like someone else, stayed here as part of a four day safari package.

Had it not been for the lovely staff, this would easily have ranked the worst hotel I have stayed at. Thankfully for a single night only. The shower works badly if at all, the toilet flush was broken, the sorry old mirror had so many cracks that it was a risk to dismantle it. The food - a whole different story. Bland and unexciting at lunch, the leftovers were also served at dinner - I promise you there was just 1 different item and those were the baked potatoes! And then bits of the same chicken were in the pot with the sausages at breakfast! 
Again though - the staff is simply great. Friendly, ready to help, smiling. 

Thank goodness it was one night only

I spent a night at this hotel as part of a 4-day budget safari tour.  My basic room had plenty of hot water and wifi (which initially didn't work until they reset it).  The water in the pool did not look the cleanest.  Options at the buffet dinner included soup so not too bad.  The biggest issue I had was with the noise at night - initially I thought there was construction going on but after making enquiries with reception, I understood the noise to be from loose scaffolding on the roof.  The noise was loud and really affected my sleep.  The guy in the room next door also heard the noise so they should really do something about it for future guests.

basic but okay for short stay

I thnik there are some homeless shelters in better shape than this.  I had to give at least one star but honestly I would givr minus 3 stars if I could. 
Standard rooms are just disgusting holes.
First we got a hole, called “room” in the satellite building. No elevator, you had to drag your suitcases up. If you wanted to turn around in the hole, you should had to go out to the corridor. Everything is dirty and disgusting.  
You need to wear full Hazmat PPE suit with chemical gloves to avoid infections. 
The “bathroom” is a little hole with a pipe coming down from the molded ceilings. It was painted last time about 40  years ago, las time cleaned  cca in the 80’s. 
They gave us one dirty and damaged rag, they called it “towel”.  The sheperd’s dogs sleeps on better rag than that. 

Disgusting dog food for diner. 
At least the breakfast was OK.

Not zero stars it’s a minus 3 stars shelter

We spent one night at this lovely little hotel! We were greeted by the most welcoming receptionist and the owner hotel ☺️ the room was immaculate and large. Dinner was tasty and the bar area was really fun with a good atmosphere. We had a brilliant evening chatting to the owner. The pool looked lovely but we did not get a chance to use it.

Lovely personable hotel

Annoyingly, tripadvisor requires a 200-character written review, which I really don't want to do for some entities. This hotel certainly merits a "5" rating, especially considering where it is, but not for any specific asset. Certainly felt like an especially safe and secure place, especially with the military base just across the street.

Nice hotel for this area

We were in this hotel for one night by our tour operator. The buffet was good and front desk staff welcoming.  The internet was OK.  The washroom attached to our room was rather odd it lacked privacy as one could not sit on the toilet and close the door for lack of space.
