Choseikan

To call this place a ryokan would do little justice to the solemn personality of the historic building and its close surroundings. The onsen, the garden, each part of the wooden structure is carefully maintained, spotless, and each ornament displaying wonderful artistic details. The dishes of the dinner were all majestic pieces of art themselves from the sashimi to the fruit dessert. Attractively presented, perfectly balanced, masterly prepared with a great eye for each detail without one single dissonance. Service by the English-speaking general manager and his personnel were correct and professional. Of course, the stay including a no-less impressive Japanese breakfast came with a solid price of around 450 USD for two persons for one night, but given the closeness to perfection that Choseikan offers, it was not excessive. Truly an experience beyond imagination.
