You will need to take a cable car ride from the parking lot to reach the reception which was quite fun with the steep rise and the slowly revealing view of the ocean. 
The rooms with the private onsen are near the top of the sloping compound. The resort has a automatic golf car system to take the guests to those rooms.
The ground floor room with private onsen faces the pacific ocean and since the hotel is right on top on a hill, you have a panoramic view of trees and ocean. The room is a mix of Japanese and Western style with a good size bathroom. The shower is indoor and lead straight to the onsen bath on the balcony. The room is clean in general, but since it is surrounded by trees, expect a few bugs especially on the balcony.
Meals are served in the restaurant rather than in room. The food is good with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The staffs are helpful and explain the dishes well.

Relaxing onsen resort where traditional service meets modern day automation

This place is good for one-night-weekend-splurge for those who live nearby prefectures.
I stayed here for a night with my family in a ground floor room of a building which stands along on the cliff toward outer pacific ocean. The view from our the room was marvelous, the highlight of our stay. The room had a onsen-bath in our own balcony, so you can enjoy really gorgeous ocean view with Ohshima while relaxing in a bath(onsen). Moon, stars and sunset... Time is just passing quietly here. Balcony has no wall. So you can enjoy the view while sitting in living space and lying on the bed, too. 
I liked the service staff who talked to us. Not too much but warm enough. The room amenity was good except teas. Beds(mat and futon) were perfect. Towels were plenty. Cleaning did not seem to be perfect, though.
Japanese style meals includes lots of sea foods, fresh sashimi, too. The eating place, which is located on the ground floor of the condo type rooms, only did not offer us view. I liked the amount they served, not too much, not too little. Not too bad in taste. I liked their choice of wines. Breakfast is not buffe style. Served in a private parted place. 
Overall, This place offer you kind of private, quiet, relaxing onsen retreat where you can only reach by a mono-rail car which takes you up on the cliff. Enjoy your weekend without loud night life!

Enjoy view from your private Onsen!

We are a big group of family. We plan to spend two nights at the hotel but we only stay for one night and throw away our money for the other night. We have four rooms altogether one big room for my parents. Two regular rooms and one room in the separate building far away from the other rooms for the kids under 13 to stay. Noone can speak english here. It’s very hard to communicate with them. Even we asked to stay near each other because we are coming as a big family, they still insist the kids must stay in that building which is awful coz it’s all food smell, the first floor of that building is restaurant the upper floor is hotel rooms. 

The restaurant is dark and shabby. Our dinner room in the restaurant has a spider as big as my palm and the giant ant running on the table. The food is just ok not that special. Service is poor and very slow.

My parents’ suite room has rats running on the ceiling all night. It’s horrible!! My room is smelling damp and unpleasant because of a lack of fresh air.  First thing I do when I got in, I have to open all the doors and windows but it doesn’t help. At the end I have go down to buy air freshener to spray in the room. It doesn’t help much. The basket in the bathroom has mold and very dirty. All the closet and refrigerator cupboard are very smelly. I can smell the even the doors are close. When I open I saw the cupboard is very dirty and has mold in some spots. The onsen in the room is not hot at all. The air conditioner is not working properly. We all did not have a good sleep.

There is unfinished cleaning in my sister’s room. There are trashes beside her bed that they didn’t clean up and the cup is unwashed. I cant believe it!! So in the morning we hurried check out and moved. We reported all these problems to hotel front using phone translation. They just say sorry and still charged us for two nights!! What a nightmare and horrible experience...
