We loved our stay at Golden Shore.  From the large airy rooms to the beautiful working beech, it exceeded our expectations.  The staff are welcoming and helpful and the location is perfect for exploring a lesser known part of the island.  When you go, be sure to dine at Angola and Fish Cove delightful restaurants on the coast.

I visited with my mum and 18month old son for my mums birthday. Were from the UK but are now locals that live on the island. The room was clean  well organised with hot running water at all times which was great. Adaptions due to C19 meant that the restaurant was only partially open but we were able to get some food delivered locally and the staff at the hotel were accommodating interms of my babys needs around meal times. Everyone  was helpful and friendly...the only thing I wish we knew before hand is that the golden shore beach itself isnt the best for bathing...lyssons beach which is about 10mins down the road is mich better...the sea is calm and shallow.

We stayed here from 2/10 till 2/14. We decided to get a newer room . We only had one issue with the toilet but everything else was wonderful..The AC was cold and people were friendly. Breakfast was a tad bit expensive for what you got ..but if you stay here you get  the real feel of Jamaica..priceless!! I plan on a longer stay in JULY ..can't wait!  Check out the view from our private balcony..

I was amazed at this hidden gem. I always felt safe and secure. Staff was friendly. Preferred the newer part of the facility. Owner was quite friendly and personable when we both arrived. Helpful front desk and kitchen staff.  Loved the sound of the ocean and being able to use balcony. Safe environment. Will visit again.

My sister and I stayed here at the Golden Shore Hotel, Morant Bay for 2 nights. At first we were told that they had no reservation for me but then found it.  They didn't have a room with 2 double beds as we had booked. They then took us over to another block which also did not have 2 double beds at first then we were taken to a third block which did have two double beds which was upstairs they were very dark and not very clean looking I had asked for a room down stairs as I had mobility issues and stairs are a problem for me to climb. I Told them that I had booked a superior room and they informed me that the rooms that they showed me upstairs were superior rooms also then they asked what block did I book my room for I told them Block A I showed them a photo of the room that I booked. They said that they didn't have any of those ones available the owner came along a very lovely gentleman who went out if his way to arrange for us to have the room that we had booked he asked his staff to move another double bed into our room which they did. Their breakfast has to be booked from the night before but we asked 2 gentlemen on reception that night and they weren't sure what was available for breakfast we ordered some plantain, bacon and Bread in the end as that was all we knew for sure was available and we were charged $700 JMD which is a lot for such a little bit if you are able to get into Morant Bay you can get much more at a cheaper price for Breakfast.When booking a room in this hotel please make sure you state in your email or verbal conversations with the hotel the block  that you wish to book your room in as otherwise as when you book a superior room you will get a room in the dated side of the Golden Shore hotel which is awful lots of very dated rooms. If you ask for block A you will get the best rooms available however they don't have any rooms on the ground floor in Block A. The hotel would be much better if they just update the whole hotels furnishings. The owner is absolutely wonderful very helpful and kind to everyone. There was a young man on the reception with his feet up and his mobile with both hands on it when we came down in the morning he did not want to sit up and put his phone down when we asked where breakfast was being served we didn't understand the directions that he was giving us and he stayed in the same position until he saw the owner coming and then he jumped up and offered to take us to the dining room.

Very Peaceful and Quiet

Short Stay

Hidden in the trees, this isnt the most obvious place to find.

My family and I stayed here over our chrsitmas vacation in December. It was my first time and I must say overall it is a very nice place. The staff is very welcoming, it's right by the beach, the rooms facing the ocean have amazing views and the facility is kept very clean.

I can't give it 5 stars just yet because I think it needs to improve in these areas:

1 better towels, some of the ones we got were ripped

2 better water flow, it seems at most places on this side of the country you can't win with a lot of water for a shower, some rooms are better than others

3 better sleep, the pillows are a little uncomfortable because they aren't filled very well some of them are thin, you can bring your own or ask for more at the front desk to add more support to your head

I would stay here again for sure 😊

Beautiful Quiet Secret

This is not a resort more like a motel. Our 1st room toilet leaked badly, nearly fell after walking into large puddle in dark. Moved to 2nd room. Sooo dusty, that's after a cleanup (see pics). Dining room a joke. 3 tables and a microwave.  No amenities at all. No tea or coffee facilities. No crockery or cutlery. Had to buy water/plastic cups etc. Only 1 iron/board whole "Motel", so they have to hunt the iron, if they feel like it. No deck chairs, beach towels, just beach littered with rubbish. Bedroom ceiling leaked when it rained. 2 seats in reception see pic.disgusting. Don't go on balcony, door shut behind you, you've had it, can't get back in!! Only saving grace, SOME staff pleasant. Horrible old structure in beautiful setting, such a shame. However, road leading to building really, really bad, taxis almost have to drive in the bush to avoid huge dips.

CERTAINLY NOT A RESORT !!!

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. They lost my reservation, and the staff was sleeping when i got there to check-in. The young lady at the desk was trying to tell me after i showed here my reservation i had to pay a different price for a room. Not going to happen. The place look unkept an smelled of mold. This was the lobby area. The road on the way into the hotel was extremely bad. Potholes on both sides and dark. If it wasn't for my cab driver i would have spent my first night in Jamacia outside in the dark. Do not go here for any reason.

The customer service was horrible. No hot water when we checked in, was told they can’t help me tonight and when asked what about another room? Was told if my room has none the others won’t have either. No apologies nothing. 
Came back late and was locked out of hotel. It would have been great at check in if guests were told doors will be locked after hours please use the hidden buzzer.
Room outdated just given 2 towels and 1 wash cloth.

No Customer Service

Rooms in the old section is horrible, they should not be offered.  There is mold in the rooms and the bathroom doors are split from top to bottom.  Water does not flow properly from the shower head.  No Lunch or Dinner offered, breakfast must be ordered the day before.  Beach location on the ground is perfect
