What was good

Beautiful building conveniently located, comfortable room and facilities with yummy breakfast and lovely spa lady. Upgrade to deluxe room was appreciated with nice view and discount on spa treatment. It felt opulent to stay there, lovely grounds and friendly staff. They accommodated our desir to extend our stay by another night despite the room being allocated.

What was bad

This was a very special 20th wedding anniversary break for my husband and I. Most top end hotels would have acknowledged this and made a small gesture to say congratulations eg flowers or fruit in the room, or a bottle of something. We got nothing. Bottled water was charged in the bedroom via the minibar charges. For the price of the room they could have provided it complimentary.
