Hotel Il Castelletto

I stayed in this hotel for two nights, with a companion. We had room 205 with bathroom, double bed, large room and breakfast included. We payed for it 45 euro per night, plus a resort tax which is usually payed in Rome (3 euro per night). From the start, it is important to clarify that the hotel is in a residential area, not centrally located, but it is well connected to city center via bus (you have one bus leading to the Vatican and another to Piazza Venezia, which is one of the central hubs in Rome) and to Termini train station. It is also connected to the Transtevere neighborhood, which is nice, cheaper than super-central Rome as well. The bus makes around 20-30 minutes to Piazza Venezia. For us its location was great. We were there at the end of a work/business trip, and we took two days to visit Rome, so after the busy super crowded super noisy central areas, it was really nice to come back to Il Castelleto, where everything was quiet, you had little shops, greenery, birds chirping. For us, the free WiFi worked without any problems. The rooms are a little bit worn for use but our room and bathroom was clean and we had daily cleaning service. The towels get changed every three days, but we only stayed two so we didn't need that. The breakfast is simple, and it is important for anyone travelling to Rome that, just as in France, your typical breakfast is made of coffee or tee, and sweet things - croissants, yogurt, a little cheese, juice, and they had an OK selection of these, for us it was satisfactory. The staff was super friendly and helpful, they gave us a free map of Rome when we checked in, the map included the area of the hotel (which is not included in free tourist maps from the info points) and it was super useful during our stay. Overall, given the prices in Rome, it is a good option to choose this hotel, for its affordability and quality of service. It is equally good if you travel by car. If you come by plane you have the direct bus from Termini to the hotel.
